Oww. Nobody should ever have to grow up that much, that suddenly, that young.

I know it happens, all the time, all over the place. But, damnit, it shouldn't.

This also means that when she was flying the kite, having tea with a frog and being a pirate, she was already an orphan

And, of course, the kid doesn't really understand what's happened - she's storing it up for later.

She'd have plenty of incentive to go off into her own imaginary worlds.

This is the reason she would rather go off into imaginary worlds, see can skip the parts that hurt to much.

How do you even begin to answer questions that will spill out of her over the next few months? I had to do that with adults and it tore me up. No shit. Those are the ones I nightmare about to this day... tell a 25 year old newlywed that his bride of three weeks didn't survive a drunk truck driver... same woman who's last words were directed at me, begging "Please don't let me die,"- what can you tell a child? Especially when you yourself don't quite understand?

Damn that hurts.

There's no win there - it's a matter of picking up the pieces and moving on - if you can.

Many cannot. More are warped and twisted by it - like a gnarled tree on a cliffside.

It dont matter if your 3 or 50 when your parents die all you want to do is cry and ask why.

In my experience, it depends on how long you had to get used to it.

We knew for ten years before my father died.

You have to wonder if Atsali "made it" through the first 56 iterations of the calendar machine reset.

The end of last week, I was on a similar track; around the idea that not just Shelly and Monica, etc got shuffled around but Eeeeeevvvvrybody got jumbled up, every time the 'Clock' reset...

(If you haven't watched 'Dark City' before, it's not too late...)
