Rocket (my cat) does that sort of thing.

She has a LONG tail (cats can have variable numbers of vertebrae in their tails, and i'm sure that she has about two more then the maximum), and she is CONVINCED that it is Out To Get Her...

I was immediately reminded of the EGS:NP story that begins with this strip:

For those not familiar with EGS - that strip is from 2004, and the art has ... evolved ... considerably. My current avatar (seen below because i'll inevitably be changing it sometime but this post will endure...) is Dan's current style.

There is nothing showing that her hitting her tail is what actually caused her to be laying down like that. Cutietail may have taken offense at being punched and decided to teach Astali a lesson. I will put $20 on Cutietail in the second round of the rematch.

It's a succubus tail with very small or no bones in it. There's probably an inordinant amount of nerve endings in that tail.

We have already established that her tail is an erogenous zone- as such, tactile sensory abound. Add to that the fact that any creature's tail is an extension of the spine, PLUS the fact that her tail seems quasi-sentient (at the very least), I suspect that the spinal column extends to the very tip.
Soooo... you have an extension of the central nervous system encased in a flimsy cartilaginous appendage... smack that with you fist and what happens? Almost as effective as a punch in the nose

Frustration combined with poor impulse control and a lack of thought equals "I'm on the ground in considerable pain, and I'm not going to be getting up anytime soon."

And the tail is still out. Bruised, but out.

now other party members and monsters must roll a save thrown to keep from being catatonic after watching said seduction.

That would be a pretty hard cosplay to pull of true but the result would be something to see.
