I don't think it's a blizzard. It looks more like someone dropped a huge amount of snow on the island. I am reminded of the time Monica POITed all the snow in her area away to somewhere else. I would say now that someone has done the same, and the drop zone, unfortunately for her and Jin, was the island.

(If the rules for POIT are the same for everyone as for Monica, it would have to be someone who's been to the island before. This would reduce the range of suspects...)

I wonder if the Library Transportation System, adjusted for altitude, could have been used. Would be funny if the Library itself sent the snow.

I'm not so sure... we have no proof that Monica ever was on that cruise ship before. I always got the impression that it was POITed at random, and just happened to hit the ship.

ETA Drops an ice cream freezer into the Pun Vault, the hand-cranked kind. I spent many an hour cranking on one of those back in the 1960's.

Perhaps... but that wouldn't entirely explain the way in which Monica has repeatedly been clobbered by improbable bursts of winter snow, year after year. She felt she was being picked on and specifically singled out. Her poiting of the snow down to the Caribbean (and onto the deck of the Spoiled Princess) was a temper-driven "snap back" at Winter.

That's why I suspect that this latest FOOMP is a continuation of the previous "tradition", rather than a push-back from somebody on the Princess. The Wapsiverse is replete with divinities and semi-divinities, including the Greek pantheon, and including at least one personification of force itself (Bia). That's what leads me to suspect Boreas, one of the Anemoi: the personification of winter and the north wind.

He'd be right at home in Minneapolis. He hangs out there a lot, I understand. He's reported to have a bad temper. If he'd decided to demonstrate his power by dumping snow on Monica every year, he would probably not have appreciated having this upstart young Jaguar Girl sass back at him with a snarl and a poiting-of-his-snow into the jurisdiction of Notos (personification of the south wind and summer storms).

"So that's the way you want to play it, Monica? Just you wait. When you least expect it, I'll show you what the North Storm can really do!"

Or, in line with the Wapsiverse's focus on powerful women, it could have been his daughter Chione (goddess of snow) who was responsible. Hmm... Pseudo-Apollodorus says that Chione had an affair with Poseidon (he's another one who couldn't keep it zipped, I guess) and bore a son Eumolpos, who I guess would be some sort of cousin to Devyn.
