If I feel better tomorrow, I'll unbury my art supply box...it's relevant to the topic.

Cordite as pigment? Nitroglycerine as a substitute for dammar varnish and stand oil?

Hope you do feel better, in any case.

Some locks are surprisingly easy to pick. I trained myself to pick a lock with a small screwdriver (to provide tension) and a paper clip (flattened by a hammer and bent into a zig zag with needle nose pliers).

I now keep that same paper clip in my wallet in case I lock my keys in the house. It's not so great on car locks, though... But it can do a deadbolt in a jiffy.

Yup. Art supply box. Oddly enough, people have offered me stupid amounts of money for it. Dunno why. Person that gave it to me said if I'm ever hard up enough to consider selling it, to let them know, so it won't be an option. No matter how hard it got, I held onto this...it was...a gift of the heart.

People can be weird like that. A while back, I was walking along in one of my old field jackets. Some guy and his girlfriend (they looked to be in college) came up to me, and the guy asked where I got it and if there might be any more in stock. I told him that I got it by enlisting and that he could always try doing the same, but apparently that didn't appeal to him. Instead he asked me how much I wanted for it.

I said two-hundred dollars, just joking with him.

He ran off with the girl, and I went on my way. A few minutes later, they came out of a bank and ran up to me, and he handed me $200. So I went ahead and gave him the jacket, which I could probably buy twenty of for that price in some surplus store.

I have two or three more of them in my closet. Perhaps I should put them away in a safe as future savings.

Catawampus! Thank you; I had forgotten where the new bolts I had purchased from the hardware store had gotten to and I just realized I was wearing the olive drab that day...

$1,500 + amounts of stupid. I was told it was a box of AK ammo pre ban. I'm sure Sarge could drum up the exact tool the ammo listed on my box goes to.

Idiots refuse to hear me when I say the only ammo in it is Alizarin Crimson, Cobalt blue, Rose Madder, French Ultramarine, Quinaquidrone Violet, etcetera, and oh, about a grand of Kolinsky sable, Korean calligraphy brushes, Japanese nishiki and Sumi e brushes, various knives, pigments, willow charcoal, jewelry bits and bobbles, and some other odds and ends...

Yeah, $1,500 can't touch it.
