You have to wonder how much is "popular girl" and how much is "OMG she's a Siren!"

I'm pretty sure that students are made quite aware of what their classmates are... some being scarier than others of course.

So, Lexi was brave enough to come over into Atsali's proximity during Devyn's lecture and try to calm her friend. I wonder just what her motivation for that was? I wonder if she's passed out from stress somewhere offscreen in the final panel?

It should all be about popular girl. Every student is a para of some sort with a wide range of abilities. But they are all 15/16 year olds going into a new social system with all the insecurities they can make in their teenage hormone induced bodies/minds can create. There have to be all sorts of roumors going about Sali as Queen of the school and what kind of queen she is. Many stem from kids making things up to hide, or justify, their own fears and hang ups. No doubt Devyn has heard scare stories about Sali and then she is pushed into taking the risk of attracting attention.

I really doubt the school gives briefings to students about who's who in the school. The class grapevine will handle it no matter what they do. If they did tell them Cricket would have generated a class notice all by herself and she did not.

I think I've enjoyed Sgt. Howard's radio chatter about the pages almost as much as I've enjoyed seeing Devyn rip into Captain Snooty Pants.
