I sorta blame my grandparents.
They were very fond of the art of Charles "Chas" Addams. They had a lot of his books. They even referred to one small room in their summer (and retirement) home in Vermont, as "The Chas Addams Room." They introduced me to those books at a young and impressionable age (although I doubt they could have kept me away from them with a bulldozer and half an army).
I don't think I ever thanked them properly for turning me on to the wonderfully-bent art of the late, great Addams... and so this one's for them.
