I have this song on CD, Dr. Demento presents The Greatest Christmas Novelty CD of All Time

I was hoping someone would recognize the tune, it seemed like a real song to me, but I wasn't sure...

And considering who Castela's various adoptive relatives are... it's entirely possible that she might get her wish! Although I suppose that might be a bit much even for Mama Bear Katherine to handle on short notice.

I am SO glad the grands don't know this song.

And Nobody better even THINK of ever teaching it to 'em.

I have Spike Jones' "All I Want for Christmas (is my Two Front Teeth)". I have Metropolitan Melinda's "Politically Correct Christmas". I( have The Roches' a capella "Hallelujah Chorus".

I'm pretty sure i have other Christmas horrors in reserve.

But why a hippopotamus? A mule for Yule would be a much more practical holiday animal.

My daughters (16 and 19) sing it randomly around Christmas.
Often at loud screechy levels.

She pronounced Hippopotamus right the first time, so "pots-a-mess" kinda has to be on purpose
