Wings... part of the costume or a controlled morph?
Halo... classic misdirection.

Since Atsali's wings are feathered I would say those are costume bat wings, or possibly Calista placed a glamour on Atsali's real wings to make them look like bat wings. A friend like Calista would be handy to have for All Hallow's Eve...

Costumes should really be the other way 'round.

The paranormal teens and kids have one day of the year where they could go
amoung the mundanes in their normal form without blowing their cover...

And they dress up?!?

She did, last year. That was why no Catgirl and Penguin.

Good idea with the pitchfork. Poke the guys who won't listen to "eyes up here".

honestly, for some guys, and yes, i know what i am talking about, the pitchfork won't help, even if it has already penetrated the skin, with atsali's curves

If Kath said "No" to Atsali's skin tight Catwoman catsuit last year, she should be screaming "NO NO NO!!" to this.

Darg-Nargit! Paul, I absolutely love your pin ups, but I hate it when you lose story momentum!

The Catwoman outfit covered more skin, but it really accentuated what was beneath it. Atsali's current choice shows more skin, but doesn't seem to really point out her curves any more than her curves would do in pretty much any other outfit (less than her school's swim outfit does, even).

For most kids (and quite a lot of adults), part of the appeal of halloween is the make-believe aspect. Being something they aren't.

Atsali being a winged siren isn't make-believe. Same for Castela being a plant.

Although there would be an advantage to Atsali being an angel (with her own wings) rather than a devil. It would be some small assistance in covering if she later accidentally shows her wings where she shouldn't. Same for Castela being a devil (with her own horns).

Side note: my daughter the dancer, at a few years older than Atsali, had a set of butterfly wings that she could cause to shift slightly - like butterfly wings in a breeze - by twitching small muscles in her back. She could stand perfectly still and yet the wings would keep slowly waving back and forth a little bit. It was really neat to see.

Did she ever see John Belushi as the killer bee, cracking up the rest of the troupe with his antennae?

On a semi-related note, I wonder if Nudge ever dresses up as Krampus in December. I'd imagine that she would get a kick out of that.

Who's to say Nudge isn't Krampus? There is a certain similarity in physical description, and some parallels in demeanor. I mean Nudge on a bad day resembles the Krampus in personality...
