A refreshing drink, a quick nosh, then we return you to the Freak Out already in progress.

I'll never be able to look at Pretzels and Ginger Ale the same way again... Damn... I loved Ginger Ale and Pretzels...
We still don't know who or what the apparitions are... Mental manifestations of her caretakers? But why the masks?

No, no... not really a Freak Out. It's just practice. Clearly, Cricket has been put into the tender charge of an exercise demon/robot, which has ten drills for her to grasp.
Somehow I think a dry, salty soft pretzel is the last thing I'd want to start noshing on at this point. The crumbs might interfere with hyperventilation and screaming.

I bet next comic a certain faerie is going to run off screaming and Monica may discover what it means to have someone truly be completely and utterly terrorized beyond all rational thought of you. One does not discover that someone can make your worst nightmare manifest at will and not become a wee bit skittish.

Monica, You got some 'splainin to do.
Hmmm, Perhaps this is one of those lessons Monica learned the Hard Way. Teaching Cricket about making her "Loving" demons do stuff for her. -------Far,FAR AWAY.

Now Monica's using the confusion corner? I'll have to set up a VIP room.
OMG! HOT MUSTARD DIP! I need fresh hot mustard dip for the soft pretzels! Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I just can't help but keep thinking back to the conversation back at the cafeteria and how wigged out Cricket was. All I can see is her standing there, taking a step back, then hair pins spinning in the air all WB Cartoon-like as she bolts. Of course Monica teleports to catch up which just makes Cricket run even faster. I think Cricket would rather be dead then be trapped again.

If you're feeling inspired and ambitious... how about a pot of hot cheese fondue as well? Chunks of soft pretzel would go really well, dipped into a nice toasty fondue... we might even enjoy it so much we'd temporarily forget how confoosed we are...

It's rather obvious what's going on.
Monica is staring Cricket on a Demon Exorcising Regimen.
(Drops his old treadmill in the pun vault)
Seriously: I do think Monica is in Calista's "Demon Space", and is observing while she sees how Cricket deals with her demons. This is the "evaluation" stage for the Demon Shepherd. Her next step is to start going through Calista's techniques of handling them, then suggesting to her alternatives.
Meanwhile, I imagine Doubt and Vanity are sitting back and munching on some Pepperoni and Prosciutto pizza and chuckling to themselves, "Amateur Hour!"

Well, this doesn't seem like it would be all that effective. Stopping it like that for a time out and all. Cricket would soon realize it's all staged and simply become immune to it. She can just stand there, letting whatever do whatever to her, and wait until a given section is finished. She's been let in on the joke now and knows she is not really being locked up for good.

"Good Cop/Bad Cop"
Very effective technique.
