I didn't have to click a thing to know it was the episode A Bird in the Hoof. That's just an example of the sort of references that make the show appeal to older viewers. Off the top of my head I know they have had audio cues invoking The A Team and Batman the Animated Series as well.

Also been done in "The Ticket Master."
Yup, the Jimmy Hart Version. In checking out this trope, I discovered that MLP:FIM is guilty of this on several occasions...many of which, I had no clue.
