You, Madam, are doing bad things to that childs mind.
And I greatly commend you for doing so.

Carry on.
He watches classic toons and stuff like DWD because I cannot stand 99.99% of recent toons. Yanno, back when they were a giggle for the kiddo, and a snicker and nod for the grownups. He asks for clarification on any and all jokes and puns in everything he reads and watches. I guess it is no wonder he picks up on it so easily.

He was upset that he got a 20% on his AR test in school until me, his teacher, the librarian, and the principal stated that the tests for Mark Twain books are geared towards sixth graders.
The teacher verbally quizzed him to see that he actually read it, and then commandeered a small army to back up the praise. He now is not afraid to pick up any book he wants to try, and will pepper his occasional sixth level books with five or six kiddie books.
His most recent AR scoring has him reading at a fourth graders level. His testing comp is about eighty percent.

We are currently giggling our way through The Diaries of Adam and Eve. A great read if you need a laugh.

See if you can get him to name his next Motley dragon Phule

How many politicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Depends on the size of the slush pile.

I once tried to invent a belt for a clock.

It was a waist of time.

I was kidnapped by a gang of mimes. They performed unspeakable acts on me...

Nothing was quite what it seemed that day. A man was walking down the street, and suddenly he turned into a door.

Things were even stranger, though. The door was a jar.

(Sounds like an arrival at Confusion Corner to me!)
