Maybe she could be Jet Jaguar Girl!
She would have major set of missile launchers then.

I hadn't even thought about that.

Has anyone seen our favorite blue guy's wiki page? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tepoztecatl If this all is old news, sorry to be late to the party

Why do you think Tepoz was being such a brat?

You know, today's update triggered a thought in my head. How much does Wapsi's human-ish cast actually weigh?

Given their physical appearance, you'd assume next to nothing (Shelly or Brandi probably the heaviest just due to muscle or general size, possibly Officer TB if you count him in the cast, though the heaviest humanoid in Wapsi history probably goes to Lakshmi for obvious reasons). But then again, Bud was able to fall hard enough to put a hole in a concrete road, and the fall wasn't all that far (even with the skates' momentum). Do the GGG weigh like human-sized stone/clay structures? But what about when humanized Jin visited the hospital? Does lack of a normal "soul" impact Tina's weight? Does Shelly weigh as much as her Sphynx form when human? And what about the immortals able to assume a human form (Phix, Euryale, Nudge, etc)?

Yes, this has no real bearing on anything and is probably a waste of time to wonder (let alone type and read). Still, there it is.

4'10", and 102 lbs soaking wet?

Hmm... sounds like Monica shrunk...

Maybe the Welcome Mat was removed from under her feet when the revolving door to the demon world was locked for good...

I thought that Monica was frozen with the GGGs because of their face lights activating with the mirror-ball to connect them to the calendar. Shelly could move because she didn't have face lights and wasn't connected (says so here).

Did I miss something that explained that Shelly had to kill Monica because she couldn't be commanded not to?
I don't think you missed any explanations, but it's always been implied. Shelly had no doll representing herself-- (present at the Calendar ceremony: still waiting for this catnip toy to pop up in Amanda's shredding room) --so Shell wasn't going to get locked into the Machine with the rest.

But no, Paul did not spell it out word for word.

For those in the Confusion Corner over whether Monica surrendered control over the GGs, well, Shelly's spelled that one out boy howdy. She hasn't. Though maybe she thought she had by granting them their freedom.

And maybe she hasn't been reminded of that until now for good reason.

The RSO's "Destruct" button is a "control".

But all it can do is blow up a malfunctioning rocket.

i think i understand what she means a she controls all three of the golems and she also there good friend,

b she can communicate with the dead spirits/ and channel them as well, remember she a door{revolving door mind you} at will unless of course, if M after the calender arc can still use that part of her power to summon spirits which coulda been shut down, when Shelly stabbed m with the blade and turned it in her head to shut down that part of the uncontrolled door way when they put the machine in the demon realm..

so in essence i can see what shelly means she would be viewed as the most dangerous, even thought she can be killed they would have to contend let see... golems, a demon barrister, sphix{ that depends on phix seeing her a friends} nudge and shelly and least to say that if they get thru all that.... being poited some place M can think of...

I've been doing mini acchive binges of early strips and Tepoz tells Monica that he wrote code into the girls when he differentiated thier personalities that prevented any one glyph reader from controling the GGGs. Monica's death counted as a sacrifice and circumvented that rule. She has full control over Bud, Brandi and Jin. She has used that control to grant them free will and allow them resume normal human lives. There is one instance when the girls were still in thier drunken college girl phase where Bud was remembering what happened to her at the hands of the Lanthian Priests. She begged Monica not to make her relive it. Monica used her power over Bud to order her to tell M what happened. It was clearly trumatic for both women, and Monica has not used her ability to command the elements of the Chimera since. She has respected them as individuals, even when Jin was really pushing her buttons.

Phix commented that when Brandi introduced Monica to her that Monica didn't order Brandi to defend her. In another strip, after the GGGs are starting to resume normal lives, she asks Tepoz what would stop her from "turning the world to glass" if she lost it and went insane.

Monica has full control over the Chimera, and not in a self destruct kind of way. She has only once chosen to exercise that control, at least that we've been shown in the strip.

Shelly is a shape shifter. Her true form is that of a Sphinx. Her human form is pretty much what she wants it to be, I'd bet. I think the short do is real and not affected though. After the revelations about her mother, she'd want to distance herself from Bia as much as possible. She cut her hair because of her mother again, but for a completly different reason this time.

This might be a dumb question, and I feel I should know the answer, but what does the third G stand for in GGG? Two of those are Golem Girls, but what is the third one> Thanks, all!

I would've figured it would be obvious by now...

I mean, come on. Who was it that Tepoz first talked to? Our overly endowed yet vertically challenged heroine is the link between the demon world and this one. That's pretty much the definition of the Jaguar Girl in Aztec mythos. Seriously, do ya think just anyone can Poit and click?

*mutter mutter* *Deposits a speed loader for a Colt .45 in the pun jar*

This is just out and out stating what has been apparent for years in the comic strip. The portal between this world and the next. Or at least the Demon world, which is close enough. And she was the GLaDOS one to see it closed.

D'oh! *deposits one portal gun into the pun jar*

But seriously, it's more than simply bouncing a graviton particle beam off the main deflector dish. It's because she's a Jaguar Girl.

*shifty eyes*

HA! I did it! I made a complete statement without a pun. I GNU I could do it.

With much wailing and gnashing of teeth I submit this here instead of on the Arts board...(the sand is up and that makes for wonky connectivity)

Jaguar Girl
Apologies to
Rick Springfield

Tepeyollotl is a friend
Yeah, I know he's been a good deity of mine
But lately Monica's changed and it's a little hard to define
And she's looking at him with her third eye
And she's walking two worlds, I just know it
And she's worshiping him late, late at night

You know I wish I had a Jaguar Girl
I wish that I had a Jaguar Girl
Why can't I find a woman like that?

Can't tell exactly when she changed
She's always been a little strange
I think that I could wait, but will they ever part?
I want to tell her that I love her, but you don't give an Aztec your heart

'Cuz she's looking with her third eye
And she's walking two worlds, I just know it
And she's worshiping him late, late at night
You know I wish I had a Jaguar Girl

I wish I had a Jaguar Girl
Why can't I find a woman like that?
Like Tepeyollotl's girl
I wish I had a Jaguar Girl
Why can't I find a woman
Why can't I find a woman like that?

I talked to Smoking Mirror
Is this how it's supposed to be?
Can't I have a happy ever after?
What's in store for me?

Tell me why can't I find a woman like that?
You know that I wish I had a Jaguar girl
I wish I had a Jaguar girl
Why can't I find a woman like that?
Like Tepeyollotl's girl
I wish I had a Jaguar Girl
I want, I want a Jaguar Girl

EDIT: This is what I was trying to upload...

Obviously that was just a stall, man. You've experienced what it's like to go for a second or two, and not make puns with your usual frequency, and you've found out how much it hertz.

(deposits a gold-plated quartz crystal oscillator in the Pun Jar)

You're welcome company here, Shneekey!

Oh, yeah - what i meant was that there's "control" ... and then there's "control".

Monica would never (intentionally/voluntarily) control the GGGs; i really think that the only way she would (intentionally/voluntarily) control them is to prevent them doing Something Bad.
