I understand that most strains of filk virus are similar enough that the antibodies cross-react fairly well.
There are some exceptions, though, and they can be nasty. There are rumors floating around of a really serious outbreak of rapfilk at a 'con back in 2003... but supposedly the CDC invoked the Wildfire rule, and sterilized the whole hotel with a small fusion bomb, so that strain is blessedly extinct nowadays.

Patient zero was never identified, and they never identified where patient zero contracted the virus, so . . .
