There have been occasional instances of women passing out when they learned that the rabbit died.

(And of men doing the same.)

Oh, it certainly is. Let's see if any of the kids can figure out the rabbit test.

(Of course, in reality the rabbit *always* died, but that wasn't generally known.)

Back in the day, men were quite notorious for leaving town very suddenly when this happened.

(This was, of course, referred to as "rabbit transit").

(Puts a wad of "cash saved up for just such an emergency" into the Pun Jar).

I remember a TV show, where the guy is at a girls flat, and finds *all* the remotes have no batteries.....
