I can't decide if you should pass that on as an heirloom or if it belongs in a museum.

Just like the 1861 Springfield my great great great uncle was issued when he enlisted in the 37th Alabama Infantry regiment during the Southern War for Independence that's setting in my gun case it is both. A price can not be set on the history and stories such things have.

You did miss some of the best parties and good times. Great music and kick ass bands. Good mind blowing movies (for instance the movie Wizards can not be enjoyed near as much without the mind being in the proper enhanced state).

I also love how each generation believes they found sex and invented porn. I will always remember a smart assed 20 year old GI asking his grandfather at what age you lost interest in sex. His reply at 73 was i dont know, lets go find an old person and ask them.

Yeah, now we've passed beyond my knowledge limit (honestly, I'm not so sharp in the music department). Why would a banjo be registered? And does a lack of registration mean a problem, or something?

I was first impressed with banjo work when it played a seminal post in the film 'Deliverance', but I recalled it had been around in my cinematic history a long time before that.

I just knew you were a man after my own heart! Can I be your partner in "crime"?
(Although, admittedly, I'm not sure how well the tenor saxophone or the bass clarinet would go with the banjo, unregistered though they bet... )
(Previously mentioned instruments are nowhere near antiques... though I do have a clarinet that is made entirely of metal, which is considerably older than the other two instruments...)

My guitar is a Yamaha 231-G, a classic wide-neck nylon string. It can do well with the reeded instruments you mention.

Congratulations to you for doing what I have started to think impossible. Many of these people that I have encountered are so taken with his cult of personality that nothing told to them will be considered. After all, "the other side will lie about everything and twist what he said!!"
I have said this about other types of idealists before, "There are people so stuck in their beliefs that if the core of those beliefs came to them and told them that they are looking at things wrong, they would blank out that info ans stay on course anyway."
