I saw that too and I'm thinking she has some sphinx in her bloodline. Sphinx plus demon usually = broken/dead demon

Either that or she IS wearing Monica's "magic" 8-ball tee shirt, that just happens to have more magic than we thought. . .LOL
Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?

Remember (others may have pointed this out before) that she's carrying most of a society's worth of memories, pushed very firmly into the background but not inaccessible. It may be interesting to find out what else she can do when she's reacting by reflex rather than knowing that she hasn't learned it.
That's a scary thought...

OTOH, even beyond her siren heritage, some future boyfriend may find himself feeling very very lucky.

And very very tired.

While all the memories passed through her that will not result in muscle memory. Muscle memory is performing the action repeatedly until you don't have to think about performing the action, your body does it automatically for you. That type of memory takes time to train. So she could have learned the moves from it but then she would need to practice them a lot to get them down. It's like memorizing a book on Kung Fu and expecting to be a master without actually practicing the moves.

Point: Sali can learn many areas of knowledge from that but physical skills take time to gain.
Ambush questions are fun. Watching the mental impact of them as they distort, or crumble, opinions based on faulty logic.

As I understand it, "muscle memory" is rather a mis-naming of the phenomenon - it is still largely a matter of programming of the nervous system. The "your body does it automatically for you" simply means that the motor-nerve processes and reflexes are implemented down in the "lower levels" of the brain (and, I think, the spinal cord) and don't require processing through the "conscious mind" aspect of the brain.

Atsali got a huge info-dump from the storage-crystal array. There's no way we can be sure which parts of her brain and nervous system were affected by it. She might have gotten "reflexes" into the "lower levels" of her nervous system, just as she got "memories" into her consciousness.

Not saying it is but this reminds me of a story my old boss told me. He was a quick draw hobbyist. One day to demonstrate his "skill" he whipped out his pistol and with a from the hip shot nailed the bullseye he had set with one shot. He put away the pistol then and refused to shoot anymore that day. When asked why he said, " if you do that it is pure skill, when you miss the next 1000 times it was pure luck."

Nature (siren and/or incubus), or nuture (perhaps the result of having several dozen insane Ethetian masters of proto-kung-fu pass through her psyche)? Surreptitious programming by the Library? A secondary effect of the talisman?
