yeah, unfortunately quite a few of them are in the newsrooms of the worlds media outlets, whether they are video, radio, or newspapers...

This island is probably the safest place for Bud to get mind-freakingly blotto; if she stays happy, all's well - if she gets angry - well, the Pacific Tsunami Warning System has a chance to evacuate the nearby population centers before the mile-high wave hits.....

politicians doubly so... or maybe their PAs or advisers...

RL MP here in Somerset, UK, where it has record floods for weeks.."oh! I hear it is a bit wet there... "

they have been campaigning to dredge the main river for 15 years, that would have moved the floods away properly...

I have on occasion referred to the Pacific as "somewhat moist".

The ocean, yes. There's also the Pacific Northwest, which has
rainforests. They're not always tropical; they can happen in temperate climates too. It turns out that 150 inches of rain a year is a lot.
