Amazing. the Square has been going on long enough that some readers are getting a little mixed-up about who goes where.
Monica literally drops into Georgette's lap, but G is too tunned from Tina's unintended infodump to have a reaction to the flame-broiled Poit! into the shop. We know she needs Monica, but as per the Dreaded Friday Cliffhanger, we won't know the how/why until next week sometime. It may not be love/crush/infatuation over a perceived image, but it's clear that Georgette needs someone to cling to, but is about to find out she chose someone who is kind of creeped out by her, when it can be easlily the other way around.
If all Georgeous George needs is a hug, then she just has to meet the Georgeous Gorgon, Euryale.

That comes later when we get her as a local human member of the Wapsi menagerie.
Also, i have noticed that our Georgette's last name is oh so very close to the last name of Paul's wife. Could this be because he sees his Sue as a supermodel??? (
as all logical mates should).

Ummm...Hi Georgette! So I gues welcome to the Super Secret Wapsi Supernatural Club. I don't have any of our initiate decoder rings on me right now since I wasn't aware we were bringing in a new member...*sidelong glare at Tina*...but we'll make sure to get you set up with some nifty fun passwords and special club hideout access right away.

Sorry...but that was the first thing that came to mind when I read today's page.

Aaaannd, we need to get your membership papers issued immediately, backdated by at least six months, and daubed with enough coffee stains to hide the fact that the ink is still wet (*another glance in Tina's direction*). Otherwise, Phix is going to
really cribbage my rear end for showing off in front of "civilians" again

It doesn't look like a blush of a crush and much of a crush touch to me. Instead, methinks it looks like redness from bawling her eyes out followed by her reaching out to verify that Monica is really there and not just a vision. Monica wasn't there, then all of a sudden she was after a distress call from a barista who could read minds and already "had her attention." That ready-for-action arrival of Monica's would be quite a surprise to pretty much anyone, especially Georgette, but even some of the folks who know about Monica's special talents.... Monday, come quickly!

That was the first thing that went though my mind when I saw this. "Oh shit... Monica's in trouble for showing off again!!!"
Question is, did Tina push Jet too far and was Jet on the verge of putting Tina in a place Tina knew would be disastrous for her (having to defend herself... you know she can't hurt another that would be bad...)?

Monica would not be in trouble for this. Tina very speifily told her that the store was locked and it was safe to poit in. So how is that showing off? We still don't know Georgettes status in the para world so nothing may be compromised. Where it went wrong was that Tina probably sounded very panicked when she called causing Monica to think it was a dangerous situation so she came ready for war. While Monica did go over the top a bit we can blame that on Phix's little talk about how para's often can be in danger from the normals. Can we blame her for thinking that this was the case when Tina called?

The more I think about this scene the more I think it is personal with Georgete about Monica. The only way G knows M is as a normal right? So unless she is a para herself how would she know about any of M's other abilities. That puts her reactions into being based on some connection, or response, in G to M herself. From a girl crush, to love, to some vibe that tells G the two of them belong together in some way. I think normally this would be much better controlled by G but Tina has cracked the inner walls rather badly. So when M poits in G reaches out M. Probably M may be the only stable, solid, person G knows in more than a passing fashion. Most everyone else G has met is from the very superfical world of modeling where image is everything and the inside is ignored. M was always more concerned about the inside of a person, when she wasn't being shallow herself.
I also do not see them as any type of relation, unless it is very distant. If M's G'pa spent time with G why didn't M notice his absence or why didn't he comment about it. M has his journals, which even mention Jin! So why hide another granddaughter for the family? Unless he was a bigamist which I doubt. He was to streightforward to do such a thing and hide it. If it was a prior marriage it would be the same. So why hide it?
It has to be some other connection between G and M that draws G to M.

Georgette's reaction to Monica's appearance could be something as simple as a "Thank God, someone I recognize, to restore some sanity!" moment.
Georgette has been in Mucho Mocha before, but I don't think we've ever been shown that she thinks of it as anything other than an ordinary coffee shop and hangout. This encounter would have been incredibly disorienting for her. She walks into a coffee shop, and a barista she barely knows immediately strips her psychically naked, rips years of scabs off of her most personal and private centers of emotional pain, and verbally stabs her right in the Vulnerable. She got clobbered with no warning at all. This is an acid-soaked WTF-from-Hell situation!
At that point, the arrival of anyone at all whom Georgette knew, would have been an incredible relief. Monica's abrupt appearance wreathed in a halo of fire would seem little short of a miracle.

Second cousins - people whose grandparents were siblings - aren't that distant a relationship.
I don't really think Grandpa Aaron played around; but he could easily be the brother of Georgette's Irish grandfather.

The only one to mention M's name is Tina in the phone call. With her appearance in JG mode, are we sure that Georgette isn't seeing someone else?

Finally, somebody I can agree with. 'Jet is acting weird because SHE IS IN SHOCK, for the reasons outlined above. It doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

(hands MerchManDan Occam's Razor)
She just came into a small coffee shop she'd only been in a grand total of once before, got psychoanalyzed by a weird lady with silver eyes and a bad haircut, and now she suddenly sees this gal she knows - someone she (perhaps) secretly wishes she could switch lives with.
And her sudden entrance in a burst of astral flame probably BSoD'ed poor Georgette's mind.

Tina said "Sunshine! You need Monica!" to Georgette, then apologized profusely and immediately phoned someone she addressed as "Monica".
Clearly, Georgette would have been expecting the immediate arrival of Montresor, carrying a cask of amontillado.

Succinct, and on point.
I think fans all 'ship characters to suit our personal tastes. But when we share those tastes, it can cause consternation in those who don't want noncanonical distraction. I.e. "I has feels for poor Jet, but now we switching to soft porn??"
All the same, the prevalence of fanfic shows it to be more normal than weird. Same impulse as artists drawing others' characters. FWIW, 'shipping, even in my own head, is always tough for me. It has to make a lot of narrative sense going in.
Sherlockcam: We know nothing of Jet's current love life, though the Wapsiworld press doubtless must; in the current climate, being openly gay could only help her career, thus this isn't her secret wound. Monica is a staunch monoamorist, Kevin and she are tight, and the issue looming there is her losing him to mortality; time with him is precious. So an M-Jet 'ship just isn't in the threads.
And
Wapsi Square has established lesbians, already. I am perfectly happy to wait for the story to return to them, which
I'm guessing one day it will.
They don't even have to elope to Iowa anymore.
Present company would agree that's a good thing... but don't read too much into that.
