I wondered where those avatar thingies came from.

If so, the rule-of-rhyme suggests she's an honest one.Mark N wrote:Great, now I am going to wonder if she is a silver eater.
I'm curious... Why does everyone say that she's crying "vines"? to me it looks like the lightning bolts you get from either a Tesla Coil, or maybe those glass globes that have a plasma ball inside that changes how the lightning disperses when you put your hand up to the glass itself... and as for her skin "cracking"... nope, it's just an optical illusion from the way the artwork was drawn, but it's actually just the lightning bolts emanating from her eyes, so they're concentrated there, thus making her skin look "cracked"eee wrote:That might account for her ability to grow vines when upset.

While we won't really know until Paul tells (or shows) us, this entry for Castela in the Wikipedia gives us a good clue.scantrontb wrote:I'm curious... if i remember my movie scenes correctly, i think a good visual would be Halley Berry's character "Storm" from the first? X-Men movie, in particular when she was battling the frog guy (no clue who it was any more, saw the movie a long time ago... CRS sucks!)
@Paul! could we get a confirmation about our theories about Castela's visuals? or will it be revealed in-comic sometime?
Interesting theory. Thorns can indeed look like horns up close.Aed wrote:Likewise just as Atsali is portrayed with wings (of a siren) it should not be very difficult to picture a thorny nature spirit sporting a pair of thorns (even if they look like a demon's horns).
Indeed... I agree that she's crying thorn bushes... so maybe those aren't cracks on her skin... maybe it is a kind of clinging vine that pours from her eyes and stays close to the skin for the most part? If allowed to continue crying, if offered a shrubbery by the knights who say 'ni!' Kath could answer, "No thanks, I already have one!"shadowinthelight wrote:Interesting theory. Could be Twizzlers.scantrontb wrote:I'm curious... Why does everyone say that she's crying "vines"?
What I found interesting was the only one wearing shoes was the thorny girl, Atsali and Katherine are both barefoot.CptNerd wrote:"Where we're going we don't need... shoes."Aleister Crow wrote:Looks like Kath stopped off for some clean clothes, but kind of forgot footwear.
or
"I just walked barefoot out of the fires of Hell itself, and you think I need to wear shoes? Hah!"
Well, this is consistent with what we've seen happen to the characters "today". Kath lost her boots when Atsali snagged her out of the air. Atsali spent most of the adventure barefoot (she'd had her bird-foot morph in effect when Kath first met her, and at least once or twice more after that; kinda hard to keep shoes on through the form-changes). She was barefoot when 'ported back to the orphanage from the Library, and when sitting on her bed musing. Castela is the only one of the three we've seen wearing shoes recently.Opus the Poet wrote:What I found interesting was the only one wearing shoes was the thorny girl, Atsali and Katherine are both barefoot.
I am still wondering if they can go translucent or if that is a drawing reference left behind.shadowinthelight wrote:Interesting theory. Nah, I think the horse is safe.Mark N wrote:Great, now I am going to wonder if she is a silver eater.
The happier Castela gets, their more transparent her horns become.Mark N wrote:I am still wondering if they can go translucent or if that is a drawing reference left behind.shadowinthelight wrote:Interesting theory. Thank you for telling us. Now I am sure that her species is a pure creation of yours (and a cute one too).Wapsi wrote: The happier Castela gets, their more transparent her horns become.
