I hear this all the time- and I'm in the trade. Eight years ago this was not the case
It was for me after I lost my Union job(Loooong story. Short version, I quit because of two managers bullying me, and the Union, while backing me up, still needed more proof to get them, and I was punch their lights out mad. I guess it was "Be kind to dumb animals week").
None of the small businesses I worked for after could give me insurance. Then I had health issues related to pregnancies, then I had my son, then became a single mother about 16 months later. Getting a good job with full health benefits has not proven easy.

Amen, Sister. I'll join in on the chorus of that song...

Before I click on that link, It's not going to be Donna Summers, is it?
(It's not that I don't like D.S., I do, but 'She Works Hard For Her Money' is so on-the-nose...)
That said, I hate going to the Doctor; "One time, in Band-Camp..."
but really though. I wish we could just toss Five Bucks into the Closet and have a Shaman step out and work up a cure...

No, it's RVS Simple Man.
I hate that song. Everyone played that around me.

It's just that my current day to day web browsing is Hotspot based and therefore there is a monthly limit vis a vi Gigabytes.
If I'm really going to click on all the Youtube links I need to migrate to a bigger bandwidth location...

I'm a little burned out on She Works Hard for the Money, too. Heard it way too many times or sumpin'. Here's my favorite Country
song("We got both kinds of music here, Country and Western...") in a while. Up to and including the '80s power ballad guitar solo at the end.

Which leads me to this guilty pleasure I must share with the rest of youze;

Its worth watching, if not for an early Jeff Goldblum, first big Debra Winger role, or the Commodores & Donna Summer performing on stage, then you must see "Marv Gomez (Chick Vennera) – a self-described "leatherman" who lives to dance".
The Leatherman. Just watch the dam'n thing, it's very Cerberus Club...

Through a rather convoluted series of leaps of thought, I looked up a soundtrack I'm fond of. The music from
'Stubbs the Zombie' a
game on the Xbox that I liked...

I was interpreting that as saying that you had your son, and then 16 months later you became a mother. I was. . .rather puzzled.

I became a
single mother. My ex left us high and dry, so I've had to raise my son on my own.

One of my favourite songs by them. Very underrated. And sung by a frontman that has almost as much power and presence as Freddie. What's not to love?
I wish I could have tracked down the vinyl of the album that song came from before records got stupidly expensive.
