I hope you don't forget the extra-tall cervical collar with padding--even with a five-point restraint you are liable to whiplash.

Ah, a fellow Gibbonite. I too, believe the dragon is either knocked out or faking it (maybe now they'll leave me alone) if for no other reason than the lack of x's in the ocular area (c8

I don't think that's Shelly and Monica. "Shelly" is too busty and not enough muscley, and "Monica" is blonde.
Blond M is cosplaying, and S is using her shape-shifting powers to appear more busty and less muscular.

Is it symbolic, in the Sept. 28th cartoon, that the hilt of the Monica character's sword looks like a fountain pen? I guess the pen is mightier, especially when it's attached to a sword blade.

The founder of
the Duchy of Grand Fenwick expressed it thusly:
In the long run, the pen is, indeed, mightier than the sword.
But at any given moment. the sword speaks more loudly and convincingly.

um, well if that were so, the 27th pic would be similar...
'mightier than the sword' ??? well, only if your opponent has only a pen...
In reality, most good swords need good muscles to wield, and and back in those days, people in general were far stronger,
not put off by a bit of cold...
eg, Red Sonja, barbarian..

'Quimby's reign ended when he was killed by a disgruntled poet during an experiment to test the truth of the saying "The pen is mightier than the sword". In his memory, it was amended to read: "The pen is mightier than the sword only if the sword is very small and the pen is very sharp".' ---Terry Pratchett

That works, too.

Oh. That explains why i didn't even have a clue.
I haven't re-read the first two in years; don't care for them particularly (not that i dislike them, or didn't greatly enjoy them when i read themk when they came out); so far as i'm concerned he started in the Right Direction with
Equal Rites, and truly hit his stride with
Mort - which is where i advise beginning the series for new readers.

Those are good.
Witches Abroad, if you're feeling particularly nasty.
