Wouldn't it still be in the Keenspot CRFH!!! forums?
(For the unfamiliar, the CRFH!!! forums used to be hosted on Keenspot, until Maritza Campos - the author of College Roomies From Hell!!! - started hosting it on her own server. Therefore, for the sake of this discussion, the Keenspot forums would indeed hold the earliest instances of the word "flrrd" as used in any CRFH!!! forums.)

*takes a few moments to check*

Here we go:
The first of 2618 posts containing "flrrd" in the Keenspot forums is this:

http://forums.keenspot.com/viewtopic.ph ... rd#p195948

Ironically, while it is a post made by the user "soleil", it does use Tchernobyl in the example of a phrase that uses the word "flrrd".

It does not, however, state where flrrd comes from.

Problem is, that may not have been the earliest use . . . the heavily redacted versions we're left with there give only the first bit of a post, so if it was later in the post than that, it won't show.

I disagree: even when searching with full post text option selected, the same posts are in the same order (in both instances, I selected ascending order, so that the very first post where "flrrd" is encountered is the first post to be listed on the search results.)
You may compare to the original search, in a different tab...

Now that I think of it, I seem to recall that at one point, Keenspot did lose a whole bunch of posts... so it's conceivable that the first on this search is not the actual first post ever in the forums to use "flrrd".

Of course, it would seem that "flrrd" was in use before then, seeing as the first post on the list is an addition to a "dictionary" of terms used in the #CRFH IRC chat.

Are there archives of IRC chat channels, anywhere?

My point was that if flrrd was in the major part of the post that is no longer there, then this search won't find it. That this is the oldest post that still contains flrrd is almost certain, but this may not be the oldest that ever contained the word.

Exactly.

That would point that way.

Not that I know of . . . but I never used IRC anyway.
