Well, based on whether you mean to include the strip from the day before;

http://wapsisquare.com/comic/framed/

It could be interpreted more than one way... (Lets say, 'Yes', you meant including coming in and seeing the Frame, but - )Did she realize the extent of the damage prior to stalking out to the Comic Book Store? I'm leaning towards Yes, she whacked it a good one, knew it at the time, but the addition of the Frame brings it to a whole 'nother level of "Oh Maaaaan"...

She probably doesn't care much about the opinions of the average elephant. Concerning her mother, on the other hand/tendril. . .

Actually, Katherine's being pretty devastating while showing very little emotion, and no anger at all.

It's not Katherine's anger, they're talking about, but Castella's. Castela's anger can hurt the ones she cares about, the ones who care about her.

Yep. Castela may be able to punch through concrete walls or tap-dance upon unfortunate fae princesses with impunity, but she actually cares about Katherine and what Katherine thinks about her. So Katherine acts as a foil to Castela's strength and ability, and can control Castela even though she'd be unable to stand up to her daughter on a purely physical level (unless Katherine has learned more in Whatsit parenting class than we realise).

Which is why she knows she's really in trouble.
