Last I checked, that bikini was something Jin picked out and I'm not sure she'd be wise enough to know to turn to Lydia. Physics?!

As for people talking about inner demons, unless I have really misunderstood a lot about the series. I thought only humans had demons inside of them? Like, that was what set them and the paranormals apart and why supposedly paras got to act in more vicious ways. Now this doesn't count beings like Shelly, who's demons formed into a single guardian entity or Monica who has her demons literally on a leash(does anyone kinda miss a couple of those creepy gals?)

nope, everyone has demons, It is just that most do not notice them, or think of them like that... you have doubts and fears.. It's just that some can actually see them! :)

Monica has Demons. She's a sub-Titan Jaguar Girl with Pheonix Blood who can walk between the planes of reality of this world, the Demon Realm, and the Land of the Dead.
Probably doesn't qualify as "Human."
Shelly is a Sphinx-Titan mix. She had Demons before she squished them together into Connie. Also definitely not a human.

Three words... DOUBLE. SIDED. TAPE.

:D
Doesn't hold bikini tops. Not even long enough for a photo shoot. I modeled once for a famous photographer, she was helping me get over a fear, and the tape, strong enough to hold a rug to a floor, did not hold mine in at all once I tried to run in it.

Yikes. Helluva cruddy way for exposure therapy to go. (That's the correct term, right?)

I wonder why more professional engineers haven't figured out how to create properly covering, sturdy, comfortable and yet still stylish intimates and swimwear for women.
The necessity is definitely there. Why hasn't it spawned the inventions yet?

I think I might have an idea for what I want to do with my engineering degree once I get it...

Monica was born fully human and then turned into a Jaguar Girl by what happened to her. And Shelly is a Titan/Sphinx/Human hybrid. Neither one of them disproves the idea one must be at least part human to have personal demons.

Mine was self esteem/body image. The top was itty-bitty, uber revealing, and designed to fail...most likely on purpose. I knew girls who wore them fully knowing they'd float away towards the nearest guy.
It was only an exercise in showing me that as a then size two, I was not fat, nor ugly...which I felt both. I bloomed a bit later than average due to knowing nothing about it, and basically wearing the same near flat chested supports even though I was not so small...because I was taught tiny was desirable. Combine that with a slew of health issues, and the war of my body type began. After I became a Mom, I really cared only about being healthy for my son. Back in my 20's, I didn't feel good about myself, and being even jokingly shamed sent me spiraling down...and they didn't have a clue.
We came up with a different way of doing that, and enter cozy shawl wrapped just so.

When I want to go out to beach or pool, I use tank/skirt combos with a super support structure, and because it involves chlorine, I tear out the wiring and use plastic corset boning instead. If it's a smaller styled top, I use that same boning as structuring for the rest of it, in addition to plastic gromits to make it lace in place, very much like a corset does. It's lots of work, but worth it.

The problem isn't the tape, it's the way human skin is...

see the top layer, the epidermis? It renews itself continuously, forming a tough layer of dead cells, to take all the 'knocks'.. so eventually when these cells are pushed to the top and shed, any plaster will loosen and fall off..

Well, keep in mind that only appeared in the presence of Monica. In fact it isn't entirely clear whether she doesn't have the power to simply form a -new- demon from a paranormals own feelings. Yeesh that'd be a freaky thing if true.

There are certainly holes in the theory, but it's a fun idea to think about. A very firm difference between humanity and paranormal creatures.

From the gymnastics film 'Stick It' ;
"How do they keep the leotards from riding up their butts?"
"Tough skin."
"AWW! They've got calluses?!"
"No, it's just this sticky stuff they spray on to keep their leotards from riding up."
"Woah woah woah. Can I get that job? I wanna be tough skin!"
"Wait. What would happen if you sprayed that tough skin stuff, on tough skin?"
"Your head would stick to your butt."
"Why would my head stick to my butt?"
"Because it's already up there! Ahhh!"
"Don't worry Frank. My head's up my butt too. Far."

Point on Calista. But is she the exception or the rule? Up until that point it appeared all the demon talk was human centric. I don't think we've been told how universal they are in the paranormal populace.

Is there a word for "laughing hysterically, while at the same time cringing in painful sympathy"? If not, you need to invent one for me! OW OW OW!

As least, being female, Atsali might not have too much dense hair in the affected areas, being torn out by the roots a bit at a time... but still... yow! Isn't the bikini wax enough of a crime against humanity??
German probably has one.

Hell, it has a word for "you're not wrong, you're just an asshole"; "Waltersobchakeit".

It'd require a miniature artificial gravity field generator. Either that or something that fiddled with the strength of the Van der Whals forces enacting upon the layers of skin and the material. Though the latter option would also need an off switch.
