BTW - the Wapsi model is about 4 1/2 heads tall with the crotch a bit below half way. This short torso/long legs combo is surprisingly close to the human model in matching the mid-point, but makes the lower legs look very sleek. Also, some have mentioned how the hands and feet look big -- this is a clever trick. If you put the heel of your hand on your chin, you'll notice the fingers extend to mid-forehead. PW draws his hands/feet to this scale to match the big head, so they look huge vs the small torso. Expressions are revealed by eyes, face, and hands, and are major players in his art.

No he wouldn't. What you're making is not Ordnance, it's just explosive, a home made bomb. EOD deals with the military things that go boom and dealing with them after the idiot troops leave them laying out in the rain for 6 months and then send them back to the depot. Bomb disposal is a whole different ball game. I was EOD in the Army at a couple of ammo dumps. None of the red wire, blue wire junk for me. No thank you that is dangerous!!! Just using a hammer to loose up the detonator on an 155 shell that has rusted in place.

Yea i think its just horrible how them Army and Navy and Marine folk treat their toys. We kept ours in nice neat dry tubes under the ground. None of that messy wire stuff either. Just 2 little keys to turn and people see fireworks like they never have before just prior to the start of the next stone age.

Schlosser's book (cited in that article) is a fascinating, and very sobering "read". I had no idea that so many nuclear weapons had been lost, dropped, or involved in fires over the years. The Goldsboro crash came disturbingly close to nuking a significant chunk of the Eastern Seaboard, and perhaps rendering Washington D.C. uninhabitable for quite some time.

Please the Air Force was just as bad if not worse. The boys on the flight line and choppers took far better care of the bird than they did of the bombs and bullets. I had them send back to us 2.5 in rockets they dropped while loading and broke. They then stacked them in an open crate behind the hanger until it was full and then shipped it back to us. Fun and joy as they never bothered to remove the detonators or put safety pins back. Does that sound like the AF was better?

yea i had a buddy that went through training with me that was at that site that day. A little more to the story than that but is classified.
