Following on Jabberwonky's thought, (well first I thought of Full Immersion...), then I got to thinking that a very long lived type portion might find a certain affinity with a more modern group or culture. In other words, Euryale might just find she 'clicks' with the adoptive accent/group and it snapped into place.

I guess the main reason I didn't quite get it was how I never slipped into a Tennessee accent, even though I used to live there as a child for quite some time. I never "picked up" an accent, I have to work at it to replicate it.
