Those eyes are flat (well, actually, in this case, a thin layer
over two curved surfaces.

It's the same principle as the eyes of the characters in
My Little Pony.
They would HAVE TO BE FLAT to be that large and allow room
in their skulls for brains.

So... what happened to Tisallah and her mom?

In the case of some of the ponies, i'd say the eyes don't have to be flat at all...

I find it interesting that Nadette has given herself seam lines in the jumpsuit that is her.

Since the jumpsuit was made up of her and was formed rather than woven, there is no reason that it cannot be one piece of continuous "cloth".

Also, considering that Nadette's voice -- since she didn't form a mouth-larynx-lungs setup, she must be using a section of herself in that area as a vibrating membrane to produce sound like one of those flat stereo speakers. (Or, maybe it's just magic.)

So I wonder if Atsali and Nadette are going to get praise or admonishment by the time this is all wrapped up?

The better question is where the eyes were before they were checking out the rear? Did Nadette get a good eye full of Sali??? Or when they were flying did her eyes take position on the best places to see where they were going? Panal 1 suggests not but the voice appears to come from where the eyes are. So maybe Nadette blinked at that moment? If so two eyes and two points to put them on. Bet it gave truly wonderful depth perception.

The eye is a VERY delicate and sensitive organ. So if she tried, Nadette would have had to been VERY careful. Being that the outfit is skintight, there's not much room for eying the inside.

Also, REMINDER: both characters are minors.

My double-take of the day:

"NORAD? What's the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation to do with this?"

Google tells me it's also North American Aerospace Defense Command. Makes better sense.

Aside: English acronyms of Norwegian institutions are a story to themselves. Like the Norwegian University of Technology and Science (they've changed it since).

Personally I spent a year at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment. The joke was to avoid running that acronym through a spellchecker.

Remember when we first met Berdine and Nadette that they weren't necessarily clothes shopping rather they were there "getting ideas because you can only get so many ideas from magazines". They probably have an eidetic memory of what they see so they tend to recreate what their memory tells them... seams, wrinkles and all... It would be second nature to do this for their illusion to be believable to others seeing them.

This is all the fault of the Library! Every single bit (well, maybe not Atsali's clothing...). well its a signal that escaped the 'mapimi effect', possibly a signal to send help??? the library wants to know, there could be 'great tech' there!! and atsali (the etithian part) does not want the present world ruined by it..

'the girl in the stasis tube' is...
- 'potentially dead' thanks to the explosion of Mapimi, there is no tech to save here very badly damaged state... or she has been there too long, the tube was faulty... etc..
- she has knowledge that people will kill for?? she knew this, so set a bomb to erase everything, if she was 'revived' without a password???
