Oy. Please don't start down that path. It's a giant can of worms, and the arguments can and will consume a forum for months.

That's why I made sure to include a "

", to clarify that I wasn't trying to start anything.

I hereby resolve that in 2015-
1) I will turn 61 years of age on the 24th of August assuming I don't die first.
2) I will laugh at myself as often as seems appropriate and at others with the same qualifications
3) I will continue to keep Miss Annie happy, be a father to her two hoolig... er... sons... and tolerate my in-laws within reason. In this manner I will try to NOT kill anybody, but I make no absolute promises
4) I will NOT discuss Obamacare in the presence of the more idiotic... er... liberal-minded co-workers at the hospital (Pearls before swine sort of thing)
5) I will NOT purchase any more firearms until 2016 when (or if) there is a change of venue at Crapit... er... Capital Hill
6) I will NOT further embarrass a certain Practitioner about his draft-dodging days (any more than I already have)
7) I will NOT loan any tool, vehicle, article of wardrobe or so much as a wooden nickel to my deadbeat, besotted brother-in-law unless Hell freezes over
8) I will enjoy my life, my family and my circumstances as much as is humanly possible
9) I will learn another language, possibly Russian this time
10) I will finish one of my short stories and try to publish it
11) I will continue to amuse and annoy those who frequent these pages
... that about covers it...

I'm a little older (61 in a couple of weeks), also still somehow not dead yet.
My resolutions are the same as last year: shelve and inventory the homemade wine in the cellar, and wash all the empties.
Oh, and to make a decent pizza. I've been working on that since about 1969, and I think I'm getting close.
Happy New Year, Sarge, and everyone!

Well, it's now past midnight in Texas, the detonations are tapering off, most of the shrapnel blew the othe direction, and so we start a new year.
Do your best to live, laugh, and love, the order is not important.
Happy New year, y'all!
