Hmm. I prefer The Whiteboard's.

(Latest comic, but maybe an extra; I could find no permalink as yet. Might fix that later.)

ETA: Updated with the permalink, which was just as AmriloJim predicted.

She did, last year. That was why no Catgirl and Penguin.
If Kath said "No" to Atsali's skin tight Catwoman catsuit last year, she should be screaming "NO NO NO!!" to this.
Is this some exquisite running gag, reference to fanfic, or just reference to previous comics I cannot find?

If the third, could someone kindly provide a link?

... it's gone.

It used to be http://wapsisquare.com/comic/atsali-and ... halloween/ - but that now redirects to this latest, http://wapsisquare.com/comic/atsali-and ... ween-2014/.

It's even gone from the archive.

Thanks for the link. It looks vaguely familiar, so I may have seen it at the time, in the narrow window it was supposedly displayed.

Also, it makes one wonder the connection (if any) between strip time and real time. If the ex-orphans have now been with Kath for two Hallowe'ens, (the first of which Atsali was still relatively flat-chested) then that means that almost exactly a year has passed in the Wapsiverse, which seems off.

(Also, Atsali would have had to have been trying on her costume waaaay early, considering she started "busting out" just before they went for back-to-school shopping.)

Of course, strip time is a little suspect. Monica said this year that she was 31. If strip time and real time are supposed to be linked, that means she was working as a researcher at the museum since she was 18 (and not getting carded at the bars).

I always assume no connection between strip time and real time.

One webcomic I read began in late 2010 at the beginning of the main character's senior year of high school (well, there was a three-page prologue set roughly 13 years earlier) - so, in-comic, late August or early September. There have been at least two new pages almost every week, and it is now January of the same school year. The comic has very carefully avoided stating what the in-comic calendar year is, but I have reason to believe it's 2002 (2007 is also possible).

Another webcomic once - explicitly - had four pages covering less than one second of conversation between two characters, but the 2nd page after that has one panel consisting of the words "six months later". (This comic, by the way, began in January 2002 with the main characters being juniors in high school. They are now seniors in high school. In the real world, people who were in first grade in January 2002 have already graduated from high school.)

With calendar disparities like that, it is inevitable that both real-world holidays and story-world holidays will occur at times that don't match the other world. So holiday snapshots such as these, matching real-world holidays but with no stated correspondence to story-world events, I regard as not part of the story. Just fun things the artist decided to do and share.

I do believe there is 'damage limitation' going on... don't you wish you could edit those awful photos from years back, so it does not give new friends the wrong idea???? :)

you must have heard of comic time??? Also 'photos' are not usually part of the 'storyline' of the comic...

Oh, and there are fake IDs about in RL too!! :)

Don't forget the (in)famous day in comic time that took a year of real time.

Well, you got your Grrl Power, with a fight that started here (27 March) and isn't quite over yet here (30 October), covering like maybe five minutes.

Action scenes take up a lot of frames, and can take ages to draw.... :/ wapsi had one too! ( but it all happened in 3 frames...) ;) 8-)

how long does it take a glass to drop about a foot???

And you could also talk about 'book to movie' time.. where sometime only one line is stretched to cover 30 mins or more!!! :P

BTW get yer Krampus T shirts here!! :D :D

Actually, I think it was more like two or three feet: Shelly stands at 5'5" (we reconfirmed the fact, over at the quiz thread), and she's holding the glass at shoulder height, so maybe 4'5" or so, and she had to dive to pick it up (we know, because in the next comic, she says the people thought the three guys had knocked her down). With the angle of her arm, ans supposing she has not yet hit the floor, at that point, the glass could be about a foot and a half off the floor, which would mean about three feet of travel.

No. Can't say I do. 8-)

Sheesh, I wish I had more of those awful photos from years back. In '94-'95, I had quite a mullet; seeing it again would be awfully funny! 8-)

Darn you to heck. Another compulsive archive-dive is now underway.

Worth it, though. I would never have thought explicitly warn myself, "Really, beer and pentaborane do not go well together" but now I am warned. And Roger... gotta have lots of professional respect for a man who hoards thorium!

As always, some dark grimy corner of the internet thought of it months ago.
