Maybe she's flying to a convention?

If anyone knows of an optical trackball with a ball/button/wheel setup like my current A4Tech WWT-13
Image
or the classic Microsoft Intellimouse Trackball
Image
or is talented enough to convert/build one I would gladly pay. The rollers that have to be cleaned every other day now on this thing are driving me nuts.

i have the same difficulty, i am rather cramped for space where i use my PC, and can't afford the real estate footprint for a regular mouse, so i use a trackball as well, mine is a Logitech one though. and even though they still make them, the newer ones are ALL wireless, and i really really hate having to keep buying/recharging them, so i prefer wired ones... but they don't make them any more...grrr...

as a consolation, if you go to a PC recycling place, they usually have some in the bargain bins for a few bucks...

Not at all! Yes, things are a bit off. I was aiming at layout and posture, rather than staying on model. The Wapsi toons are pretty much 4 and a half heads high, and I tend to draw about 5 1/2. So -- shorten torso, extend legs, etc. Work to come.

Hey, check out what I found (and had previously missed) on eBay...

google to the rescue :) (maybe?)

http://www.trackballworld.com/trackball-mouse.aspx

searching for optical and choosing mice

http://www.trackballworld.com/search.as ... ategory=37

some are cordless, but most seem to be corded :)

at the very least that should give you some brands/models to look for locally (or on amazon/ebay etc :p)

unfortunately, the only one that seems to have an offset trackball is wireless :(

.... oooh, this looks promising

http://www.trackballmouse.org/

--> http://www.trackballmouse.org/is-a-trac ... or-gaming/ might be a good article to look

hmmm .... maybe ?

http://www.trackballmouse.org/microsoft ... l-optical/

offset, wired but the trackball is halfway down the mouse?

or perhaps http://www.trackballmouse.org/microsoft ... -explorer/ ?

I hope that helps a little :)

This would have been done last night if my computer didn't keep crashing. Gettin' fancy with the panel layout.

They (Logitech)do still make them wired, and Best Buy is the only place I know that carries them.
Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Frys {though currently more expensive}; also NewEgg, and TigerDirect, if you despise Best Buy, as some do.

Personally, i might go with Frys, since i have one not TOO far away, and i love to go there just to spend an hour or two browsing...

=====================

Oops - i see you were talking about wired.

I prefer wireless - i don't have to replace my mouse's battery very often, and getting a wire from where i use my mouse to the computer on the other side of the desk can be a pain.

Hmmm - the top result on that BestBuy link is wireless...
