Well, what's left of the car might "buff right out", but the door they had to cut out for the employee to get out of the car, according to the article, just might not...TazManiac wrote:Not to worry; that'll buff right out...

There's an easy way to prevent these kinds of incidents: Park your own car, then get out and walk.
There is no such thing as a science experiment gone wrong.

Woah there!
Are you actually advocating doing things the normal way??? And how are they supposed to feel superior to everyone else, if they have to park their own car, rather than leaving it with some poor underpaid slob because you are too busy and too important to do it yourself?
All those poor, entitled people, who would sooner sneer at you than talk to you... you expect them to actually park their own car???
Oh, the humanity!

I don't get why you'd own a thing like that and then let someone else drive it. Aside from purposes of seduction, anyhow.lake_wrangler wrote:Woah there!

Isn't the thrill of driving it the whole point?

For people who can afford them, it's like a Rolex, as often as not.

Ah, yes. Rolexes... Because everyone knows that one can definitely tell time better if it comes from a watch that costs as much as the average car...AnotherFairportfan wrote:Nah.

There's an Eddie Murphy film called Boomerang & it's got him in a more dramatic, less slapstick-y role, which is about the only way I can tolerate Eddie Murphy.
(Eddie, Less is More!)
Anyway, at a certain point, the protagonist is asked on the street if he wants to 'buy a watch', like from a guy with a long coat and both forearms full of watches.
When Eddie mentions that he's OK, He has a watch, the 'vendor' looks it over & mentions "Nice Watch... watch yer back...".

Well, sure! It's all about showing off. That expensive Rolex probably gains or loses more time, per day, than a cheap quartz-crystal watch that you'd get for $10 at a drugstore. Thus, the Rolex owner is showing thatlake_wrangler wrote:Ah, yes. Rolexes... - He's so important that he doesn't need to really care what the actual time is. Other people will adjust their schedules to accommodate him. Or...
- He's showing off his mad skillz... he does math well enough in his head to compensate for his watch's error "on the fly" each day.
