AH-HA!!! She was buying cases, not just individual boxes! She definitely did get a good deal in the end. That's the perk of buying (or paying) in bulk I guess.

Yep, those GS were paras.

All hail the Queen and hope the Empress Phix accepts the bribe. Wonder what the prize is when your sales are 20k plus?

I think she's going to need a second sash for all those sales badges she's gonna get.
And I think Monica's got the bribe thing down - but I suspect Phix is more of a Tagalong type.
Also - I'm definitely not surprised that Phix can be "bribed". I mean, look at that nice tea set she has.

What - did all you people figure that Phix baked those cookies she hands out?

For the record, that's 6240 boxes for $20K, or $3.20 a box. That's a deal!Julie wrote:AH-HA!!! She was buying cases, not just individual boxes! She definitely did get a good deal in the end. That's the perk of buying (or paying) in bulk I guess.

The English are notoriously bigoted. If it exists, they (or one of their colonies/former colonies) probably have a slur for it. And then another, even more offensive slur for it.Opus the Poet wrote:Yep, those GS were paras.

I think it was a military slang from the '70s or '80s. It has been a long time, and I have died at least once in the meantime, so I might have something reversed or otherwise screwed up, but I definitely remember "paras" being slang for people who jump out of perfectly good airplanes while carrying guns. I'm blanking on the GS but I know it was something like that and similar to the SAS.Gyrrakavian wrote:The English are notoriously bigoted. Oh, paratroopers. No idea on the GS, either. I'm amongst the youngest readers (30).Opus the Poet wrote:I think it was a military slang from the '70s or '80s. Boxes, cases, packages... I hate the English language, sometimes.
But yeah, 3 dollars, 20 cents, (and a little over a half-pence) per box is not bad at all, especially if they have to grease some floured palms, too. They're just a little bit bad-ass.
Now I wanna spin-off comic featuring the adventures of three Girl Scout para-normals.

You're in the right corner of the internet for that! It doesn't strike my creative fancy, and I'm working on a story already... But maybe someone else might take on that idea.BarGamer wrote:Now I wanna spin-off comic featuring the adventures of three Girl Scout para-normals.
(yes, Purpose has not been abandoned; IRL has just been getting in the way recently... I promise I'll get back to it when I can)
On a different note: Why did Paul use "01" through "05" instead of just "1" through "5"... Was he planning on going last "9"?

Nope. Not gonna do it. Sorry. I work on the other side of the institution from them.

Even if it's only One or Two items, it's good practice to get into to add a leading Zero. If for no other reason, some file managers, and even databases will sort poorly (= out of order). Its stupid but it still crops all the time;
https://support.sas.com/documentation/c ... a002400106
Its gotten to where it doesn't look right, to me, without one anymore.Without leading zeros, the variable names would sort in the following order: A1, A10, A2, ... A9.
Re: The Chase 05 2015-09-25
well they aren't 'strictly' sales, it depends on HQ.. half would be 'donated' to a nearby group, to stop 'jealousy'Sgt. Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Re: The Chase 05 2015-09-25
Originally I worked it out as
10 boxes per girl = 30 boxes per week
30 times 52 = 1560 boxes
$20,000 divided by 1560 = $12.82 per box +/-
$12.82 times 1560 = $ 19,968.00
$12.83 times 1560 = $20,014.80
($10,000 divided by 1560 = $6.42 per box (Actual average price for GS cookies is $10 per box))
But now its
10 times 12 times 52 = 6240
$20,000 divided by 6240 = $3.21 per package—that is about 1/3 the cost of a package of thin mints
But because I suck at math . . . I went back and checked. The actual counter offer was $20,000 UP FRONT . . . so the $20,000 is not the total price. It all makes sense now (more or less) *goes back to the confusion corner with a box of thin mints and a glass of milk*

Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?
