Jolene is my favourite character - Nina is next, then wossname, Brooksie's girlfriend.

I didn't use this one here, yet - it's from two pages before, as Jolene finds it impossible to decide how to tell Important Historical And Genealogical News to her co-worker - and i actually like it better.

So here it is.

He's really gotten a handle on Brooksie's character compared to her initial appearances, when she spoke almost entirely in movie quotes and swindled Nina into giving her her clothes to wear, even though they were about twice too long for her because she felt loved wearing them...

Likely in a most hilarious manner.
I suspect Castela knows this, and is channeling Nudge to make extra sure that Atsali doesn't mess up. She's remarked before that adults have trouble listening, so she needs to use overkill strategies to get them to pay attention to her when she sees trouble brewing.

Imagine how hurt Castela is going to be when Atsali no longer includes her in anything because she can't keep her mouth shut. Actions have consequences, even for young blackthornes.
You know that light at the end of the tunnel?

Yeah... it's a bullet. Sorry.

This one calls out for a custom title. Or location, perhaps?
perl -e 'print "Just another Perl ${\(trickster and hacker)},";'

The Sidhekin proves that Sidhe did it!

And, you can get the clock on your VCR set that way, so it stops just blinking 12:00 all the time.

(Sheesh, VCRs are so out of style these days, we're going to need a new metaphor for "only the young are sufficiently tech-savvy to do that for their hapless parents")

I'm half-a-Century and I'm still the one who sets the VCRs. (Actually, most all the remaining ones are autoset by now...) <-- Robots stole my job...

Hmm. . .we have Castela as the new Nudge, Nadette as the new Tina, Calista as the new Shelly. . .so who will be this generation's Marcus P. Smooze?

This morning I took my car in for its legally-required annual inspection. As I was paying at the counter, the kid who'd worked on my car asked me if I was into history. You can probably say that I am, especially since I studied and taught it at university, but I had absolutely no idea what might have led the guy to ask that. Then he told me that he'd noticed the "antique" uniforms in the back seat of my car.

Those are some field jackets and the like that I keep in the car just in case I unexpectedly need to wear something warmer or change clothes. They were also brand-new when they were issued to me.

Everybody seems to think that I'm either far younger than I am in years or else older than I feel.
