Re: How'd you find WS? (secretly & slightly on-topic)
I been thinkin' about it, and my FIRST encounter with Wapsi Square was the Shelly sculpture on Patch Together...I was on R&R in Pattaya and was checking on the Yenny sculpture and saw her there. It was love at first sight, but being on vacation, I'd told myself that I needed to check up on her. And, of course that thought went into one of the bad sectors of my memory storage.
And I still kick myself over it, I'd murder a nun for one of those...

I have the names of two or three nuns from my time in a Catholic school that I would not mind seeing on your hit list. Unfortunately their premature departure on the Stygian ferry would not get you a Shelly figurine.Jabberwonky wrote:And I still kick myself over it, I'd murder a nun for one of those...

That reminds me - someone on Slashdot recently had the idea for a site called "HitStarter" - crowdfunding like KickStarter, but for, well, hits...Jabberwonky wrote:And I still kick myself over it, I'd murder a nun for one of those...

Old PHPBB forum I used to moderate, a user made a thread linking to the comic http://wapsisquare.com/comic/06232004/ (user used it to quip "not technically porn") around the time of Tina and Heather's first "date". Being a bit more of a webcomic junkie back then (aka regularly read WAY too many) I investigated the comic in question, became a fan of Brandi, Jacqui, & Tina, and more-or-less stuck around ever since.

I've been reading Wapsi from WayBackWhen - don't remember exactly, but i think it may have been somewhen around Monica-at-the-biker-bar.
And i honestly don't remember how i found it; it's kind of like Misfile and The Wotch - i know i found one and was archive binging and then i came to either one of the multi-artist "Day or Remembrance" pages or a guest strip that led me to the other ... but i'll be hanged if i remember which i found first.
I've found a lot of webcomics by following up links (or recommendations) on other webcomics, too.
As to who/what/where:
Sixty-something unemployable/retired in Gainesville GA.

I can't remember what I was doing last week, let alone what I was doing somewhere around ten years ago.
I'd wager a guess that I found it through a related link? Series of links? I'd read archives back then, lack the patience to keep up with daily updates, and move on.

You come all this way out saying squat and now you're trying to tell me that a '56 Chevy could beat a '48 Buick in a dead quarter mile? I liked you better when you weren't saying squat kid. Go to bed.

Well, I started reading before the Golem Girls appeared: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Com ... tedIndex=0
I didn't know about forums and there was no comment section when I started reading. It was the GG's ad that made me check out the comic "Coming Soon The Golem Girls" I knew what a golem was and was intrigued by the picture. I pressed 'first' and kept going. I've always liked strong female characters and the supernatural aspect also intrigued me. Of course when the comments section appeared I got to read everyone's comments and it made it even more interesting. Everyone seemed nice and intelligent, so I kept reading the comments. I liked the black and white medium, it reminded me of The Savage Sword of Conan, which always had superior artwork to the color comics. When Jabbewonky colored one, I was intrigued and since I was learning GIMP to help out my friend with Photoshop, it challenged me to try to color one too, and it was met without derogatory comments so I have kept at it. When the comments were turned off, I was sorrowful, I would have missed the community. I was happy when a Forum was announced and decided to try and learn how to do it. It is a nice Forum, but it's so big, and I've never really browsed it all yet.

I started reading right around the time when Lily and Suze were introduced. I found it through TopWebcomics, and decided to power through the earlier chapters because it looked like Paul had taken the story in very interesting directions when I looked at the recent pages. (I've come to appreciate the early chapters with the benefit of hindsight and a better understanding of the characters, but it didn't grab me at first.)

I think i arrived about the time Amanda was photographing the girls in front of the billboard. I honestly don't recall from whence.

It's been a while. I'd ask bookworm if he recalls when I signed up for the BLC forums, but he doesn't frequent here much.
I think it was before Doubt (acinoM as we called her) appeared on the scene, so I may have actually been here for a decade or so.

I came over from one of the other webcomics I read every day/week, possibly Questionable Content, Devil's Panties, Two Lumps or Gunnerkrigg Court. Really glad I did!
Vive la weird!

It was on a list posted with some other comic--don't recall by whom or what the other comic was. Perhaps 9 Chickweed Lane?
