Why can I imagine a scene in the upcoming movies where Han is telling Luke's kids a story how he got the scar single-handedly saving their dad from Darth Vader? :D

It's Bill Kirchen - former guitar and singer with the LPA, with hisown group, Too Much Fun.

While looking for a good video version f "Too Much FUn" on youtube, i didn't find it.

But i did find this... (I've seen each of those guys - and the Commander, for that matter - live once each. Seeing them together might be a Guitar Hero Overdose. (Especially if either Richard Thompson or Jerry Donahue sat in...)

And, just to complete this free-associating ramble, here is Bill Kirchen doing a ten minute "Hot Rod Lincoln" (when i saw him live, it was thirteen-plus...). Note that's all on one Fender Telecaster...
FPF - thanks for that link. One of mt all-time favs. !

Interestingly, every recorded version of "Hot Rod Lincoln" from the last thirty or so years says "...got eight cylinders, uses 'em all..." when, in fact, the hot rod the song is about (yes - it was an actual car) had twelve cylinders (both Cadillac and Lincoln offered V12 engines at one time):
[Songwriter/singer Charlie] Ryan owned a real hot rod that was built from a 1948 12-cylinder Lincoln chassis shortened two feet and with a 1930 Ford Model A body fitted to it. Thus the song explains how in "Hot Rod Race" a kid in a Model A could have outrun late-model Ford and Mercury sedans. Ryan actually raced his hot rod against a Cadillac sedan driven by a friend in Lewiston, Idaho, driving up the Spiral Highway (former U.S. 95) to the top of Lewiston Hill.
<snip>
The actual "hot rod Lincoln" was auctioned off at the 2013 Barrett Jackson Auto Auction.

The car's adequate.

The engine is a piece of art.

Forties/Fifties Ford/Lincoln/Mercury flatheads are simply wonderful.

Hey - he's got good brakes and a rollbar. "Fair" tires should cover it.

Yes. One advantage of a V-12 (or Straight-6) is that it is self-balancing, with one power impulse every 1/3 revolution. A V-12 has one impulse every 1/6 revolution, making for a smooth, powerful engine.

Well, self-balancing if it's even-firing. That's more difficult on a four or eight-cylinder engine.

Then there are five and three cylinders engines.

And Harley motorcycle engines which intentionally run rough.
