Facebook Comment System

Post by Atomic »

Getting confused here. I've commented on the Wapsi Square pages a few times to test the new comment system, and I can't see them. But, if I log into Facebook, then they are visible.

Err, what? Clue, please.

You probably need to be logged in to Facebook to see them, otherwise it will prompt you to do so. It's the function of the "remember me" cookie on FB, I'd suspect.

That doesn't make sense to me. Why would seeing your own comment require being logged in to FB? Or is Atomic not seeing any of the comments? I have this computer set up to not remember by FB login info, so I'm never logged in when I'm reading Wapsi, and I see the comments just fine.

When I'm not logged into FB, I see all the comments but mine. When I log in, I can see mine again. Logout, page refresh -- gone.

Weird.

It's probably due to your settings in FB, I'm guessing.

Just guessing, but if a person's FB privacy settings are something like "Only let my friends see my page and content", then that person's FB comments on the Wapsi site may not be generally visible... not even to that same person when not logged in.
