You mean, he's not 65, he's only 45 with 20 years of experience, right?

(My mother-in-law had a fridge magnet based on the same logic: "I'm not 50, I'm 18 with 32 years of experience")

"How can I act my age? I've never been this old before!"

I can't remember where I saw that. Probably Facebook or someone's shirt.

How can I be old enough for Social Security when I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up?

I would be very careful either calling Sarge a turkey or telling him to get stuffed...

By no means, sir. With his skill and experience, and in the tradition of promoting an officer or NCO upon retirement, I would see him in the role of Captain Cook (and as not an entree).

It shows how little if ever I peruse these pages anymore- here it is, almost eight months after the fact and I finally read this... "Sarge the Sage", eh? only if you want the 'wisdom' of the county's oldest juvenile delinquent...

1) Never let age interfere with your childhood.

2) rule 17 of the Bombay Golf Course- "You shall play the ball where the Monkey drops it"- live by that.

3) That which doesn't kill me probably ought to RUN.

4) If you are capable of great violence, and are not inclined to it, you are peaceful. If you are not capable of great violence, and not inclined to it, you are harmless. It is better to be peaceful.

5) Check the credentials and accomplishments of an individual before you proclaim or believe said person to be an 'expert'.

6) Never own a Gremlin, even at gunpoint.

I'd seen the movies enough to know that already. I got some bright LED flashlights as a precaution, though.
