You know, I never got around to actually seeing 'Cats', but I might just need to make the time...

A shame... it looks as if the Broadway company was doing a revival of Cats in Sacramento earlier this year, but the run ended in April.

Although... I did hear that there a small community-theater group doing Cats in an outdoor setting down by the river in the delta north of there. The whole company was out there one evening riding mowers, cutting down the grass and raking it aside, to make a place for their theater-in-the-round...

When I first heard the line about "The corn was as high as an elephant's eye," I thought -- that's what, maybe 3 inches? Four? Why are they so happy about it? Was there a drought last year?

That sounds like the Elephant's Cuticle...

While I'm pretty well versed w/ the Golden Age musicals (Straight Men Who Like Showtunes, on the Next Geraldo!), I'm not too up on the 'Silver Age', so to speak. Of that era I've seen the film adaptation of Les Miz (to the Battlements!) w/ Anne Hathaway et al & been to a revival of 'Phantom of the Opera' when it'd come through San Francisco.

I supposed I just forgot to mention seeing 'Rent' too, but it wasn't the original cast.
