Database glitches

Post by Bookworm »

I'm not sure what's causing them. I've just taken down the web server and sql server, and restarted them.

What's odd is that this isn't the normal overload, which pounds the server into submission until the internal system crashes mysql and restarts it. The system itself let me in with no problems.

I'll do some log checking later on today.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Has anyone seen a glitch since Monday morning? I did some database repairs (on a different database) to fix a few errors.

So have I, but none of the "too many connections" kind that I was getting before.

I can’t remember if it was after Monday morning, but I do recall some MySQL errors of some sort recently. Is that what you’re referring to?

It has been a while, though, so I think it’s been taken care of.

I don't know if that is specifically what he is referring to, but I was the following error recently:
General Error

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Too many connections [1040]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.
So I sent a PM to Bookworm, to let him know. By the time I had enough time to return to the forum again, the error was no longer occurring. (Yay!)

I've gotten a few of those SQL connection errors as well. A short wait and reload fixed it.

Guess the SQL hamsters are constipated or something!

Apparently as MySQL/MariaDB keeps trying and trying to autorepair a table, it can overload itself with database queries. Weird, yes.
