Re: More Stuff
Another somewhat amusing quote from my wallpaper changer:
Re: More Stuff
There was a very short-lived advertising campaign, "Windows: Life Without Walls"
... but someone asked "if we're living without walls, what do we need windows for and where do we put them?"

If only that could happen...

Re: More Stuff
Unfortunately, this one is probably true:
Official Project Stages:
- Uncritical Acceptance
- Wild Enthusiasm
- Dejected Disillusionment
- Total Confusion
- Search for the Guilty
- Punishment of the Innocent
- Promotion of the Non-participants
Re: More Stuff
You bet it's true!
Though I saw it as:
Stages of a project:
Enthusiasm
Disillusionment
Apathy
Panic!
Search for the guilty
Punishment of the innocent
Praise and honors for the nonparticipants
Of course, it can be argued that anybody who manages to be a non-participant after the search for the guilty deserves honors!

Re: More Stuff
Rather than looking for someone to blame, I prefer to engage in more constructive activities. When something bothers me, it's easier to put things off and get distracted. If it doesn't work out, then in the evening I go for an unscheduled run. Helps distract. Although earlier, for me, jogging was one of the types of torment. But it turned out that you just need really correct shoes, after which your legs will not hurt. Since I bought Nike Men's Revolution 4, I have not experienced any joint pain after running, or discomfort while running, because the sneakers are breathable, very comfortable.

Management doesn't see it that way . . . it HAS to be somebody else's fault! (Especially when it's failed because of management meddling with things they don't understand . . . which is pretty much anything they can't eat, drink or screw.)

One of my wisdom teeth needs to be removed. It's been causing me a fair amount of pain the past couple of weeks, but I couldn't get anything done about it because I was in Ohio, seeing folks I haven't seen since 2011.
Thankfully, there are mouthwashes specifically made to help with toothaches.

Oh - ick, and condolences! Had mine out long ago, and appreciate the discomfort (to put it mildly). Enjoy your slushies!

Re: More Stuff
I naturally had only three wisdom teeth, and when this was discovered I was told that the one that didn't have a mate in the lower jaw would eventually grow so large it would have to come out.
That was about 30 years ago. I still have that mismatched wisdom tooth.
About ten years later, one of the wisdom teeth that DID have a match grew so large that it had to come out. Meanwhile its mate never grew even large enough to break through the gum.
Human bodies are weird - and the closer you study them, the weirder they are.

I've used Sensodyne toothpaste for years to help with sensitive teeth.
And one of my right wisdom teeth never came in . . . the opposing one eventually had to be pulled, but I still have both teeth on the other side.

40 years I spent with my hands in somebody else's anatomy... once you get past the skin, we're all disgusting inside.

Here's another amusing quote from my wallpaper changer:
Manic-depressive, adj.:
Easy glum, easy glow.
Re: More Stuff
There are also kits for temporary (until you get to the dentist) relief of toothache.
Sorry, I can't suggest any specific ones, since I haven't used one in twenty years or more.
For general ongoing tooth sensitivity, I use Sensodyne toothpaste.

Re: More Stuff
I have rinsed with a hydrogen peroxide solution for a couple of days and it really eased the pain. Yesterday I finally went to the dentist and solved the problem forever...
Re: More Stuff
The ones I've seen are usually based on eugenol (clove oil), sometimes diluted and/or in a carrier of some sort. Dentists also use eugenol.
+1 to that. It's been a great help to me.For general ongoing tooth sensitivity, I use Sensodyne toothpaste.
I've been rinsing with diluted hydrogen peroxide for years... not for pain but for general oral hygiene. My dentist approves, and seems quite happy with how my teeth are doing at the age of 66.
Glad to hear you could have your tooth-mechanic deal with the problem properly. As far as I know, all of the off-the-shelf remedies and treatments are simply stopgaps... when our teeth and gums need professional attention, they need professional attention.

Re: More Stuff
I'm sorry, but I believe you are stretching credibility, here... I don't believe your teeth are much older than 65...
