Paul seems to have spent some time today retro-tagging Lola's earlier appearances.

When the new strip showed yesterday I clicked on the Lola link in the characters list, and there was just that one strip. I did it again a few moments ago, and there are now several more, dating back to last summer. So, yes, Lola has been Dietzel's new... well, "main squeeze" doesn't seem right for a spider but you get the idea... for a while now, and Digit approves of the relationship.

And now we know her name.

I'm not sure why AFF referenced Scarlet here, though.

Maybe Dietzel is realizing he's actually in the Japanese Butterfly Dream! But - is he awake, or asleep?

If I had to guess, Dietzel having no experience of ever being human forced his brain to go to the closest visual equivalent he could think of.

The American Kennel Club is going to be very confused by all the eight-legged puppies that eventually start appearing at their dog showings.
