LMAO!! Atsali, my dear...you found a way to make something without a head try to bang it's head against a wall. Kudos! Bravo! That takes skill!

Well there are the 'nethers, so where are the 'withers'? Or the 'forthers'?... the 'uppers'?...

I sometimes have to wonder if Atsali's skull was covertly reinforced with neutronium.
Re: Doing Quite Well 2015-12-04
Well, look at the bright side of the situation.
Atsali is now in a situation where her complete inability to interpret a person's tone of voice and facial expression makes utterly no difference at all!
(Her inability to read body language, on the other hand... but you can't have everything.)

If Devyn's mind trip involves metaphors and other symbolism, then it's not going to work the way it's supposed to on Atsali, is it?
Re: Doing Quite Well 2015-12-04
Probably not... there will be some interesting interactions.kingklash wrote:If Devyn's mind trip involves metaphors and other symbolism, then it's not going to work the way it's supposed to on Atsali, is it?
I have a feeling that a lot of this symbolism correspond to the various levels of Devyn's psychology. The "horrors inside us" can be quite horrifying indeed, but Cricket made a point of reassuring Atsali that there's no real danger here. That's probably twice-true here because Atsali is Devyn's friend.
So, Atsali is probably safe from Devyn's "monsters from the Id". In fact, this nonverbal but helpful pair of gams might actually be a projection of Devyn's psyche, sent specifically to help protect Atsali. Devyn might even have a name for it... "Leggo my ego" or something like that.

I am definitely worried about the future of the waspiverse. With a skull that dense it has to have some effect on the gravitational field of Earth.

There was a sequence in "Exiern" in which a former-priestess (well, it' a bit more complex than that makes it sound) who had been silenced by magical means tried to communicate with an illiterate barbarian by writing, and she got so frustrated she wound up clobbering her (complex) with a candlestick.Julie wrote:LMAO!! (Which led to "Tiffany" saying "I can't believe you hit me with a candlestick. In the library.")

In another case, Typhan-Knee (her real name, back when she had different plumbing) meditated that there was just something wrong when the maiden fair was rescuing the dragon from the knight in shining armor...

You're a bit late on the withers joke. Though, you bit me to the punch on a joke about Nether's brains being in her butt.Sgt. Howard wrote:The BUTT has more sense than the BIRD BRAIN!!!

There's a bad joke in here somewhere about chasing skirts, I just know it.
There is no such thing as a science experiment gone wrong.

But at least Atsali has a good excuse, this time, for her inability to read faces.

A succubus or a siren really ought be better able than this to communicate with Nethers.

Re: Doing Quite Well 2015-12-04
due to how Cricket knew what seemed to be happening to her, i'll bet that either the effect just doesn't work on her, or she's able to counter it somehow... and i don't know "WHY" but i have the strangest feeling that Legs is actually supposed to be something scary to the current victim, but Atsali is TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS to whatever it's supposed to be doing to her mentally/emotionally... i'll bet that the two of them will wander thru some other rooms in Devyn's mind and see some other things that is/are supposed to be even scarier but again, they will be like rain off of a ducks back to Atsali.. the new horrors will join Legs in banging their collective heads-against-the-wall... and get fed up enough at their combined lack of "proper" responses from Atsali, that they actively kick her OUT of this place and back to reality before Devyn expects her to be ... and in doing so, she'll "POP" back to reality to the shock and surprise of both Devyn and Cricket at her actually being COHERENT instead of being in the trance-like state that the two earlier victims we saw were like even after Devyn walked away, and the effect ?faded away naturally?...Dave wrote:Probably not... there will be some interesting interactions.kingklash wrote:If Devyn's mind trip involves metaphors and other symbolism, then it's not going to work the way it's supposed to on Atsali, is it?

I wonder if the legs have some sort of skin or other substance sealing off the top, or if they look just like a person cut in half would do (complete with cross sections of the various internal organs)? Hopefully the former, or things could get messy.
