... and Cricket is the one who knows what's up? Either she knows more about Devyn personally than I would have expected, or maybe the Darkness is something not unique to Devyn and is something that Calista has seen or heard of before?

Dave, I think Calista at least has a feel for the Darkness' effect on Devy. I recall Monica had bouts with it, and has perhaps imparted the experience to Cricket.
