"Blamo! The board game"

Post by AmriloJim »

Chutes & Ladders style: to be written as the arc develops. Hex grid will be removed once project evolves.
On the yellow hexes, Thymbris finds a new shiny to send you back to the start. I've started with Paul's switches and Doc's red button... need suggestions for five more trope images.
Green hexes jump you six steps (to hex behind next green). We'll add positives as the arc continues.
Suggestions for step captions welcome, as are comments on game mechanics.

What a great idea! Kudos, Mr. Jim.

Hmm...another shiny thing could be the "giant sea urchin" Monica & Jin found. Having trouble finding the original but this forum post works just as well.

OH!! Just thought of the grenade Bud found on the old U-Boat. That shiny made a pretty big boom.

Sea urchin and grenade added. Circumstances around the ignition of the dynamite cache rule out the impulse factor.
Oh, the exaggerated drop shadows come from resizing the board to a low-res thumbnail.

The 8-ball t-shirt (just the "8") could be a "plus".

Will the final "version" be available in a higher-res download, perhaps through Google Drive?

Indeed, JW! I'm storyboarding right now, I'll incorporate the 8-ball into the background design. The canvas is 20x16 inches at 300dpi.

I'm sure you'll find icons in those sets somewhere. How's that for a start?

I like 'em all, Atomic... but that's a bigger bite than I want to take. To my mind, a game that just hits the highlights does not well serve the rich heritage that Paul has created. My thought was to write this one as the current arc develops, using Thymbris' attention disorder as the 'theme' of the game.

Got fed up with my old photo editing software... it can't handle a multi-layer image of this size. So now I'm learning the ins-n-outs of GIMP. Here's the current thumbnail of the board.

I like, but I'm trying to find a way to blame them on Thymbris' ADD. Perhaps I'll change the 'chutes' part of the game to only pitfalls which Pablo plans on spring on the way to "mission accomplished."

Of course you have to add "Get Smacko'd By Corn Husk Doll - Chase The High Speed Tumblyweed For Two Turns."
