I dunno. I don't really see much difference between Atsali and any teenage girl who just found out her little sister has been snooping in her diary. Seems to me they all react like that. Maybe without the wings, but the teeth and claws? Oh yeah!

I think Atsali is more mature than most human 15-year-olds. Whether or not that is because she is a siren or because of her life experiences is hard to tell. But I think she realizes that even as a mature 15, she is still a child and has a lot to learn.

You can always tell when a little kid is faking being dead - they always stick out their tongue.

Castela shares quick thinking with every other five-year-old I have ever known. When there's something they want, they can think very fast and use the most wonderful logic.
