Re: Not Good Company 2015-05-14

I feel sorry for the poor innocent paramedics who'll have to go through trauma therapy after working on him, or if they're combat veterans, the flashbacks this might cause.

There are indeed no such things as ghosts. What can be mistaken for ghosts are far more dangerous and frightening.

Re: Snowfall 2014-11-19

My problem is that this plot change seems to signal the final change of Wapsie Square from being the sort of story I got hooked on all so long ago (essentially "ordinary" people, both normal and paranormal, dealing with both personal and supernatural problems on a day by day basis) and tur...

Re: Too Grounded 2014-11-18

Okay, this one has pushed me a little too far too fast. The Kevin - Monica relationship was one of the lynch pins that grounded this story for me. The occasional troubles that arose within it were always seemingly resolved to make it stronger. Having Monica accept its dissolution this suddenly and s...

Re: Say So 20114-11-14

I'm back. I got cots, blankets, and bottled water from the home center. Also extra space heaters and kerosene for the cold snap. The freezers are full and the vending machines stocked and we should have a dozen apartments ready by next week, so I'd say the confusion corner is all set for whatever is...

Re: Where Are You 2014-11-13

For anyone interested I've been converting some of the empty storage space above the Confusion Corner into one room efficiency apartments (mini kitchen and shower) for those wishing to take up permanent or semi permanent residency. Good individual soundproofing and internet connections, mail service...

I've always felt that as a matter of evolution, shapeshifters would be more likely to be bi-sexual since they could take the form of either sex. Therefore their sexual preference would be based on more emotional rationals.

Just about any dog can learn to flush a toilet. For Dietzel, I'm sure there wouldn't even be a learning curve. I don't know if Monica has a lever action kitchen sink, but a similar effect can be achieved by turning on the faucet there if the bathroom door remains locked.

Re: I'm Sorry 2014-10-1

That is the sort of illustration (Dietzel's) that requires paragraphs of text to even begin to convey the same emotion and will probably still fail.
We need to frame it for the Confusion Corner.

Re: Did You Hear Something 2014-09-18

The Library is neither player, nor played. It is for lack of a better analogy, the Dungeonmaster. It observes and tracks the players progress, provides information, enforces the rules of the game; but mostly allows the players to choose their own fate. That being said, it did take an active role in...

Re: Visiting Too 2014-09-17

Does it seem odd that either a school or a military force, let alone both, would put 16-year-old girls in uniforms that reach from the neck to about six inches below the waist? With skirts, not shorts? I've always wondered about that... and until just a few years ago, I had never seen anyone wear a...

Re: Visiting Too 2014-09-17

While I'm not sure of its actual relevance to this situation, I would like to point out that Dietzel, for all his faithful companionship, has never treated Monica with anything that could be considered fawning respect or pet-like devotion. He's been a house mate and confidant, and while dependent on...

I remember one Halloween I borrowed my real haz-mat gear from work and wore it in the front yard for trick or treat. We hardly had any kids that year for some reason.

Re: Grandma Lily 2014-09-03

While I don't think anything untoward has happened, I'm hoping we'll be quickly assured of Suzies status and well being. Lilys emotional state was very unstable in that last beach scene and she was very emphatic in her warn offs. (And she wasn't hugging Suzie back.) Now Lily is here and alone. There...
