Re: Sit Here 2012-08-16

It reminds me of a story told at a nearby convent. One of the elderly sisters was getting dementia, and so they reversed the doorknob on her door so she would not go wandering around without someone to watch her. One day the mother superior accidentally locked herself in with the sister, and began ...

Re: Sit Here 2012-08-16

It occurs to me that Monica has been accepting the mythical beings in her life like someone walking through the zoo, observing the bears and lions and noting only their beauty. Today's reaction is the scream of someone who's just noticed there are no bars between herself and the apex predators all ...

Re: Sit Here 2012-08-16

Sphinx probably tastes like cat. Never eaten one. Ask someone from China and related countries. As for a litter box - remember, they're desert animals. They have BIG sandboxes. but if they have eagle wings.... wouldn't they also taste a bit like chicken? and if they have human torsos, then the flav...

:!: And come to think of it - cleaning out that pan could be like one of the tortures of Hades! Remember Tantalus and the guy who had top roll a huge rock up hill forever?!?!?! Would you use the regular size scoop or a large economy sized one? Having 4 enthusiastic cats like I do, the kitty-pan cle...

Well, we've heard sphinxes described as the apex predators of the paranormal. I guess we're seeing why they have that reputation. ... Hadn't foreseen cannibalism, either. Grisly, and gristly. Greek mythology is pretty much a charnel Chik-fil-a. But Paul has been building to this for some time. I es...

I didn't think of that one. I was more thinking of "She moves up the pecking order; it's natural to feel peckish."

Could that have been a demon? If sphinxes have them? For what it's worth, the horns resemble those of the goat-headed sphinxes thst Connie was portrayed facing down in the Time Forest. Phix has described herself as being the low sphinx on the totem pole; this might be one of the other apotropaic sp...

Hmmm. Take one blood feud, simmer for millenia, reopen wound and stir. Yep - one hell of a recipe. For what, however, I'm not sure. Is it possible that immortality ultimately makes you stupid? As in unable to learn (vs. unwilling)? I think that's been a theme in several series I've read. Nathan Bra...

I'm thinking I started with 9 Chickweed Lane, which led to Pibgorn, both being by Brooke McEldowney, and that led to the Pibgorn comments, populated by certain comic addicts, who posted their lists or favorites--and eventually I got hooked here.

A confusion corner would need to be a discussion board all of it's own. No thread could hold it all and be even partially readable.
