I'm thinking that Kath knows how things worked through her research, but was unaware that everything was keyed to Anasazi DNA and is also totally unaware of her Anasazi-ness... I get the feeling she's going to be as surprised as everyone else when it becomes known.

We didn't see that crystal there when Kath and Ansali were there - maybe it wasn't there til after Kath used the Gate - and it is now displaying it's new destination: Spider Woman (well - was, until these two vampire boobs showed up) - bet Suzie starts carrying a backpack from now on.....

Yet another unexpected example of vampiric powers that differ from the traditional ones. Although this may have some bearing on the earlier commentary about the failure of said features to adhere to compliance with the tenets of gravitational forces. But if they are part of an extra dimensional storage space then such non-adherence could be understandable. As would be their size versus support needs.

My wild ass guess? The stargate recognised Katheine and also recognized her lack of memories. The gate system uses the Akashic record to work, meaning it could pull things from the record and put them in a crystal.

Like, say, the memories of an Anasasi spider woman/guardian who had had her memories wiped and had been wandering through modern human society with no idea of who she really was?

I'll bet a Lord of the Rings Shelob figure that Kath knows Lily when she gets her memories back.

(I'd hate to lose that creepy thing. Makes a great Holloween decoration and wigs some people right the f**k out.)
