Brandi caught the instant replay on sat TV.
No this doesn't mean she planned it. Just that she found out about the events and is reacting to them.

Working with these two must be interesting .. where else does the second in command jell and shoot her boss, punch her in the dirt, just to call her babe two seconds later ...

I understand. I was just ahead of someone else and they responded to yours first. It happens.

True enough; but Best Friends are like that. We see it in WS all the time, between Mon & Shelly, the Golem Girls, etc. Of course, they usually don't have an audience, like Pratt & McBride do now.

Knowing that the fits going to hit the shan - who' going to answer the call ? Or will they both defer - and have the assistant make the call about where they are - and what happened to the costly equipment.?

Rule number one of vampire etiquette; don't take your frustration out on someone who you have mentored and who looks up to you. She may be stronger than you and unwilling to put up with your crap.

..And Brandi will poit in, look upon Pratt & McBride with a friendly, even somewhat motherly, slight smile stating: "Well now, you worked out the kinks in your respective psyche's? Good. Let's get to the true work now.
..or not. We could be looking at a mightily pissed-off golem, really miffed that the dynamic undead duo botched-up something rather important: finding a portal. One of -probably- many....
....unless Brandi knéw of the portal at Mesa Verde...
Oooookhay... Off to the confusion-corner, staring absent-minded into my Latté.
"Tina? Still some of those terrific Becky-styled muffins left?"

How would you like to be some of the people on their team? Years of experience and field work, promotions, assignments, and then, as somebody's reward/punishment, you get assigned to the Pratt & McBride show!
Scene - sitting around the office, sorting out the maps and other paper work.
(Screaming in other room, followed by things breaking.)
Combat veteran pilot: "Looks like a good plan so far. We're well within weight and range limits."
(Gunfire and more screaming)
Veteran EOD specialist: "We might want to order take out or something. I think they're going to be a while."
(Shriek and thumping from other room)
Veteran communications officer: "Sounds good. Chinese maybe? Or how about that ribs place?"
etc....

Bad day? Sheesh... Lily's day just went from bad to worse. I suppose Director Oduya is coming out because she forgot to have Pratt sign the Hand Recepits for the birds... oops... what birds?
Lily: Honest Director, they crashed!!! Uncontrollable!!! Flocks of um... birds!!! Earthquakes!!! Floods!!!! We barely got out alive!!!
Director Oduya: Is that your story, Agent Pratt? Really? That's not what the Satellite feed showed.
Lily: ~gulp~ Whuuuut? What satellite feed?
Director Oduya: Care to revise your bullshit story, Agent Pratt? And stand up when I'm talking to you!
Lily: I um... can't.
Director Oduya: Can't? What do you mean, can't? You'd swear somebody knee-capped you or something.
Lily: Funny you should say that...

I've got some muffins over here in my little habitat iffin you want one.

I'm enjoying a lemon muffin with bluberries. While I'm not confused (at the moment), I've found that snacking enhances the amusement value of this particular show.

I'm not sure how much of this Brandi anticipated, but I'm betting she's had her eye on Agent Pratt for awhile. Brandi is probably well aware of her history, and I'd be willing to bet McBride is not the first vampire she's tried to mentor away from the "shitty mosquito" lifestyle. Lily seems to be more fearful of beings more powerful than herself than Suzy, which may explain why she has survived at the bottom of the supernatural food chain for
5000 years. I think Brandi picked her for her connection to the Mesa Verde mystery and her extraordinary survival instincts. Not to mention that she seems to be a genuinely good person, despite the circumstances of her existance.

Dammit, I have to stop drinking coffie when I read this forum.
It does make you wonder how much these two have been kicked around from agency to agency and from department to department.
Imagine, as a goverment agent In The Know, you are told a pair of
vampires are being asingned to you.
Great, you think, you'll be able to fight fire with fire against the low level supernatural threats humans are left to deal with, and the mundane criminals won't be a problem to a pair of agents who can see in the dark, are faster and stronger than a human perp, and can recover from what would be fatal wounds to a human in seconds.
It's all good.
Then McBride eats a suspect.
I'm betting this isn't the first time The Dynamic Duo has been transfered to a new department.

No portal at Mesa Verde. The library portal was near there, somewhere within 50 miles maybe, not at there. The other portal is apparently unknown. MIB might know about it, might not. The GGG worked for those folks remember. THey were drunk a lot but I'm sure some of it stuck in their heads.
Bigger question is why is Brandi sticking her nose into this? Screwing up the equipments should be dealt with by Tsalia(sp?) not Brandi. It might be because the sat images showed the problem. It could be the mission brief finally made it to Brandi's attention. It could be the fact the library set off the mission raised red flags. Or the mission is a lot more important than we think it is. Hard to tell.
Just realized what I said. If the GGG were drunk all the time when did Brandi sober up enough to make her deal and get the MIB going? TEopez left them in a perpetual state of drunk for over 400 years before handing them over to Monica. A drunken Chess Master plays a lousy game you know.

Just noticed the phone call was not from Brandi. It was a message relayed to them to meet Brandi at Mesa Verdi. If it was from Brandi the wording from Lily would have been different, first person, not third. I just wonder how they are going to do that? There mode of transportation is gone after all. They can't fly either. So I guess they get walking, running, or calling for help.
