A bank has legal obligations to protect your safe deposit box, and the money you deposit. (Caution - see Cyprus).
What obligations does any Cloud service have to protect your information (not troll, sift, database, filter, and resell) other than their say so? And from whom do they protect it (geographically dispersed backups, subpoena, physical capture of the servers, etc.)?
YMMV - a lot!

Eh... all I've got on Google Drive is my password safe.
Of course that thing is encrypted and has it's own unique and rather long password, so it would be of no use to anyone else anyway...

I have several TB of backup drives for my art, programs, content extras, apps, pictures, and music, plus other things I think merit a save. Other than the new toy tablet, I don't have reason for cloud storage. If they want my Weber, Ringo, Bujold, Asimov, and other books of the nerdy persuasion, more power to them. My private life is offline, protected by sharp and shiny. The few pics of me online are set in layered passwords for HQ sizes.
Free is a shady term in my book. It is nearly always, "free with a catch".
Just my 2cp.

I'm usually a cheerleader for anything high-tech, but this "cloud storage" stuff....I dunno.

Like Yogi Berra said, "the future ain't what it used to be."
